5 Jobs Your Roofing Business Should Outsource

Ruby five jobs you should outsource

By Evelyn Witterholt

Outsourcing marketing, accounting or receptionist positions can save your roofing company time and money.

Having a well-rounded staff of full-time employees for every position can be nice, but it can be pricey for smaller businesses as well as time-consuming when searching for the right job candidate. One thing you can do to reduce labor costs is outsource some positions. Although some people view outsourcing as compromising on quality, if you outsource from a reliable source then the quality of the work will be just as good, if not even better. After all, you have the opportunity to hire an experienced person or team who specializes in just that job.

Here are five jobs your roofing company could outsource:

1 – Receptionist

Having a receptionist in the office to answer calls and schedule appointments is handy and even necessary — there may be times in the busy workday when no one can get to the phone. Outsourcing receptionists can ensure that your customer’s calls get answered in a timely and friendly fashion.

Ruby provides these call services and more to thousands of growing businesses. Their highly trained receptionists can answer calls, book appointments and even make calls on your behalf. By outsourcing a receptionist from them you could earn up to an additional $17,989 per year due to costs saved on labor and an improved customer service reputation.

2 – Bookkeeping

Bookkeeping is known to be a tedious job that can take up lots of your precious time. The hours you spend on bookkeeping could be spent elsewhere, such as on landing a new client or working on a current project. According to Enkel, outsourcing this job can not only save you time, but give you access to bookkeepers with better technology. If your outsourced bookkeeper is using better software, this means more accurate and consistent records.

3 – Accounting

It could take months to find an in-house accountant that’s right for your company. Much like bookkeeping, outsourcing an accountant saves you time and money, and also has the added benefit of a third-party perspective on your company’s finances. Baltic Assist explains that “a good accountant will always provide advice on how to make accounting more efficient. Sometimes he might work with a couple of companies and propose an excellent experience from another client.”

4 – Web development

It’s almost an unspoken requirement these days that a business has a website. But for those who are less tech-savvy, or simply don’t have the time to create a website, you can outsource someone for that too! A web developer will have the knowledge and know-how of exactly how to market your business online. Their understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) will also get your site noticed by new customers.

5 – Social media

Contracting with a third-party to handle your social media is great for the same reasons as hiring a web developer. Having an active website is good for a business, but being active on social media can be even more beneficial, especially for potential customers, many of whom take a pulse of your business by looking on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. An outsourced social media manager can make sure you show up for these customers and remain active, while marketing your business masterfully and using their knowledge of trends to boost your reach and engagement!
