Coffee Shop Crew

Heidi J. Ellsworth has worked in the roofing industry since 1993 and has held positions with Malarkey Roofing, Carlisle Construction Materials and EagleView Technologies. She is president of The Coffee Shops™ and owner of HJE Consulting. She is also one of the founders of National Women in Roofing (NWIR) and Roofing Technology Think Tank (RT3). She served as chairperson for the first two years of NWIR and in 2020 was awarded the WORLD Award.

Heidi focuses on supporting overall marketing strategies, sales success and content development for companies and associations within the roofing, metal, coatings and construction industries. With a passion for networking and win-win-win scenarios, she continues to provide consulting and progressive digital advertising opportunities for companies and associations, building strong collaborations for business profitability and success.

Tim Ellsworth has a diverse career that started with his own landscaping business in high school until he went to Central Oregon Community College where he studied forestry and met Heidi. He worked in warehousing for twenty years as a warehouse manager and then worked with construction and landscaping contractors. Tim and Heidi have worked together raising a family and working in the roofing industry for close to 30 years. Currently Tim not only supports The Coffee Shops™ through tradeshows and speaking engagements with Heidi but also continues to work in construction and woodcutting in Camp Sherman, Oregon.

Karen Edwards is passionate about the roofing industry and thrilled that she gets to report on it with The Coffee Shops™. She has a long history with her dear friend Heidi Ellsworth. The two met when Heidi interviewed Karen for a job at Carlisle Syntec/HJE Marketing at the height of happy hour in a local PA bar and they have worked together ever since. Working at Carlisle and EagleView, she has led prominent industry marketing and contractor marketing programs. An avid sports and live music fan she lives in south central Pennslyvania surrounded by family. She now owns her own consulting business, Casimir Group and works to help others be successful in the roofing industry.

James Ellsworth is the Chief of Staff for The Coffee Shops™. He has worked as a Chief of Staff in the Oregon Legislature and helped pass the largest investment to Oregon Schools in generations. He also has experience working with multiple non-profits active in Oregon politics advocating for voting rights, environmental stewardship, education funding and housing. Growing up around ranchers, loggers, contractors and hearing all about the roofing industry, James has combined his love of the roofing community with his expertise in business development to advocate and develop The Coffee Shops™ staff. When he isn’t working he loves to explore new places and roads and try new local wines, and can usually be found hiking, playing a fun game or listening to a good podcast.

Megan Ellsworth has grown up in the roofing industry, she is a child of marketing and getting her hands dirty on site. Growing up with Heidi J. Ellsworth as one's mom, it would be hard to not fall into roofing somehow. As the podcast producer for The Coffee Shops™, Megan handles all these audio and recordings. If you have ever recorded a podcast for The Coffee Shops™, then you have met her. She is a full time musician and leads her own band, ELLSWORTH. She recently graduated from the University of Colorado at Denver with a double major in Music Business and Songwriting. This young woman is one to watch both in the music and roofing industries. Catch her and her infectious smile at the FRSA or IRE tradeshows this summer.

Charlotte Galland is an account manager for The Coffee Shops™. After working at Disney and Orange County Sheriff’s, Charlotte has fallen in love with the roofing industry. Of all the industries and people she has worked with, she finds the roofing community to be her favorite. She loves working with our partners and delivering the best customer support possible. Charlotte loves old movies (especially if they feature the signature swagger of John Wayne), visiting National parks and more than anything chasing her daughter Alice and sons Beau and Brody around the house.

Amelia J. Morgan is an account manager for The Coffee Shops™. She attended Western Oregon University, where she earned her BS degree in Biology. Amy was working as a Surgical Technician in the Veterinarian industry when she met Heidi and decided to make a career change. Amy is excited to be on a new trajectory and learning the ins and outs of the roofing world. When not working at The Coffee Shops™, you can find her enjoying a good book, tending her garden, or roughin' the great outdoors. She also loves spending time with her life partner and two cats, Vesper and Zephyr.

Lauren White joined The Coffee Shops™ crew in 2019 as a reporter and is now the editor of both The Coffee Shops™ and AskARoofer. She earned her B.B.A. in Marketing and a Master in Arts and Teaching from the University of Portland. She was substitute teaching in Central Oregon when she made her blind leap to roofing after discussing her career goals, the roofing industry and the meaning of life with Heidi — over wine of course. New to the roofing world and with a love of learning and education, Lauren has enjoyed jumping into this new arena, both gaining as well as sharing her new knowledge. When she’s not reading articles or Googling roofing terminology, Lauren enjoys cooking, adventuring with her puppy Kira and watching sunsets.

Laurel Witting is the genius behind The Coffee Shops™ social media and is the reason it has grown in total followers to over 27,000. She prefers to stay out of the limelight, which is good, as she is the team's secret weapon. Her real business is as a custom jewelry maker from her studio in Portland, Oregon. It’s her constant demand of quality content that keeps The Coffee Shops™ hopping.

Emma Peterson is a writer at The Coffee Shops™. Raised in the dreary and fantastical Pacific Northwest, she graduated in 2024 from Pacific University in Oregon with a degree in creative writing and minors in graphic design and Chinese language. Crossing paths randomly in jury duty with fellow account manager, Charlotte, she was blessed with the opportunity to join the crew! Caitlin is so excited to bring her experience to the roofing industry and build some amazing relationships along the way.
