Investing in the right equipment can increase your revenue while establishing trust with customers.  

In today’s labor shortage, it’s important now more than ever to retain quality crew members and a positive reputation among your community. One key way to do so is by investing in the right equipment that helps crews feel safe, valued and energized to contribute to your team. In this episode of Roofing Road Trips®, David Beiler of Equipter spoke with Heidi J. Ellsworth about how investing in their debris-lifting equipment not only makes jobs run more efficiently but also instills stronger morale in your overall operation.  

“We all know roofing is messy. It's hard work. So, how can we integrate the right equipment to take care of our crews?” David offered. “There's an average of 7,000 to 10,000 pounds of debris on the average-sized residential roof. If you don't need two guys to move 10,000 pounds of debris, that's a win-win for everyone. They're more efficient at the end of the day, and they're not as worn out. They can get up the next morning and do the same thing a lot more easily.” 

The Equipter 4000, one of Equipter’s most popular products, is a drivable debris container capable of lifting 4,000 pounds 12 feet high. While some business owners may be hesitant to invest in equipment for crews made up of subcontractors, David offered a thoughtful perspective. “Some people might think, ‘Well, he's a subcontractor. I don't really care how he does it.’ Actually, we should care a little bit more,” he expressed. “I know that's part of the challenge: how do I implement equipment when I'm selling, marketing and I have a subcontractor completing the work? It can be done, and it pays off.”
