In an episode of Roofing Road Trips®, Heidi J. Ellsworth visits Rick Morrow and Randy O’Shea of FlashCo to talk about how they are helping contractors save time on the roof. Rick works in the manufacturing sector and has been with the company for around 20 years now. Randy is a customer service manager and has been with FlashCo for just over a decade.
Randy explained that the company began in 2000 and their identity is about simplifying products to save contractors’ time. He pointed out, “Time's everything. Time is money. Our products save contractor money and it's a timing thing.”
Part of how the company does this is in the prefabrication process. Rick explained, “We do have quite a range of options. We have vents that are forced air exhaust, gravity vents, square top vents, T-top vents, breather vents and in Northern California, we even offer a B-vent, which is specific to that market.” This range of options means that the contractor does not have to waste time searching for a manufacturer with the right type of product — more often than not FlashCo will have what they need. And if they don’t, FlashCo has an efficient custom order system.
Randy explained, “When somebody can draw something up, we want to make it for them. We have an in-house CAD guy now, and he's able to turn out drawings for us within hours.” This is just one example of how FlashCo is tailoring their service to save contractors' time. Randy elaborated, “FlashCo has thrived in service. We have nine facilities and nine major areas. We have our own delivery trucks that deliver to distributors.” They do all of this because they know that accessibility is key. By working through distributors and with contractors directly, FlashCo is up to tackling any project brought to them in a timely manner.
