SEO is the Name of the Game

Project Map It SEO

By Cayden Wemple.

Having good SEO is essential to growing your business.

You can’t talk about good marketing in the 21st century without talking about SEO. SEO or “search engine optimization” is an algorithmic tool used by search engines that determines how high up on their searches you will land when keywords are put into their engine. On a recent RCS webinar, Karen Edwards of RCS and Stephen Spence from Project Map It discussed the importance of SEO and what it can do for your business.

“SEO is hugely important,” Karen said, “If you have a web company that works with you hosting your website, you should talk to them about the keywords that are driving customers. Then you can gear your content to include more of those keywords to try to drive those people.”

You also do not have to solely rely on writing for your blog, you can upload videos to YouTube as well. Karen added, “You could be sitting in your car, turn on that video and record, talk for five minutes, and then post the video on your YouTube channel, get it on your website, along with a transcript, because the transcript alone provides that fresh content and those keywords can be seen by Google.”

Location has a lot to do with SEO results too, and those can vary based on your area. Stephen added, “Call your marketing company and ask, ‘Hey, what are the keywords in our area?’ Because maybe up in Massachusetts it's a little different than somewhere down in Florida. Depending on the region and the weather and stuff, keywords might be different. For our system, if you ask for the keywords, I think the biggest one is, "Roofer near me." That is your key term that's used everywhere.”

Watch the webinar to learn more about how you can optimize your web presence to start driving more leads to your website and for more information on Project Map It.
