Rewarding excellence

Karnak Rewarding excellence

Learn how KARNAK’s Q Applicator program elevates contractor training and rewards.

Many manufacturers in the industry have developed brand loyalty programs that help their contractors provide better service to their clients and get perks along the way. In this episode of CoatingsCast™, Karen Edwards sat down with John McDermott of KARNAK to talk about their rewards program, Karnak Qualified Applicator (Q Applicator).

Although KARNAK provided training to it’s core contractors, the program was formally introduced as the KARNAK KQA (KARNAK Qualified Applicator) program starting in 2019, the foundation of this program is their technical training. John explained, “Owners who are hiring a roofer, want someone that's qualified. Roof consultant specifiers on a project, they want these applicators to be qualified. And the contractors themselves, most of them take a lot of pride in spending time learning from us, sending a lot of their personnel at a great cost to our training because they want them to be top level trained in these types of products and they want to do things right. So that is what this program does.”

The Q Applicator program takes approximately six or seven hours (which are split into two half-days of training) for contractors to complete. It has both hands-on and classroom-style portions that go over the technicalities of installing coatings. John elaborated, “It's not a KARNAK commercial, we promise. It's a very, very good technical training, just trying to help them understand how we're going to get this done right. Because for a restoration system to have any value, it has to last.”

After completing the program, there are a number of benefits for contractors. One of which is access to KARNAK’s lead generation program on their website that Q Applicators can get referrals from. There are also cash incentives for Q Applicators when they purchase qualifying products and discounts on warranty fees. John shared, “We have some other smaller things too. We'll do co-branded marketing for them. If they want to have shirts made or if they want to do postcard advertising, we'll do that as well. So those are the primary rewards programs.”

If you’re interested in becoming a Q Applicator, you can make an inquiry on KARNAK’s website!
