Don’t Miss One of the Largest Regional Roofing Trade Shows in the Country

NERCA - See 2020 with NERCA
January 26, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.

By Lauren White, RCS Reporter.

Hear from a former NFL Super Bowl-winning coach, learn strategies to hire and maintain talent, and network with other professionals at the NERCA annual convention and trade show March 17-19.

Join the North/East Roofing Contractors Association (NERCA) for their 94th annual convention and trade show March 17-19, 2020.  Taking place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, this is one of the largest regional roofing trade shows in the country!

CONTRACTORS, You are invited to be our guest on the show floor, for your pass CLICK HERE.

There will be nearly 200 booths full of products and services geared toward roofing professionals.  Special events throughout the duration of the show include: the 23rd annual Thomas S. Gunning membership recruitment award, election of the executive committee and board of directors, the presentation of the Clarence J. Carr Roofing Industry Annual Award to NERCA’s 2019 outstanding member, and greetings and updates from the NRCA president, Nick Sabino.

The conference will have plenty of opportunities for roofing professionals to network.  The welcome reception and happy hour reception will have complimentary beverages and appetizers.  These are great opportunities to reconnect and catch up with colleagues, friends, and exhibitors. And don’t miss the cornhole tournament, which is new this year!

On the second day of the show, be sure to attend the annual business meeting and breakfast.  While there you will hear from Dick Vermeil, former NFL Super Bowl-winning head coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, St. Louis Rams, and Kansas City Chiefs.  Described as “one of the most distinguished coaching careers in the National Football League history,” Dick spent 15 seasons as a head coach and was a member of the league’s coaching fraternity for 19 seasons.  He has also been a football broadcaster for NFL and college games.

Dick is an accomplished individual as a member of three college sports halls of fame, two NFL teams halls of fame, three states hall of fame, and the Rose Bowl hall of fame.  He is the only coach to be awarded Conference Coach of the Year honors on four different levels of football competition: high school, community college, Division I college football, and was selected as the NFL coach of the year in 1979 and 1999.  Since retiring in 2006, Dick has his own wine business, does speaking events and charity work, and works on restoring his father’s vintage race cars.

Jennifer L’Estrange from Red Clover, an HR consulting firm focusing on leading businesses through organizational change, will be presenting a three-hour educational seminar on becoming a “Best Place to Work.”  This interactive seminar will focus on hiring and keeping the best talent for your business. During the three hours, attendees will “learn how to define and articulate your company values and culture, target prospective candidates, and ensure that they are the right fit for your organization,” according to NERCA.  Jennifer will also talk about ways to keep new hires engaged and motivated to continue producing quality work.

There will be six other educational seminars throughout the conference.  A.C.T. Metal Deck Supply will talk about metal deck 101 and metal deck replacement.  The Associate Director of Technical Services for the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) will share a NRCA technical issues update.  Other topics will focus on working safely around solar, provisions roofing contractors should have and look for in roofing construction contracts, the most dangerous tools on the jobsite, and technical issues in the roofing industry.
