GCP is a leading global provider of construction products technologies that includes GRACE ICE & WATER SHIELD®, the original self-adhered roofing underlayment, additives for cement and concrete, the VERIFI® in-transit concrete management system, high-performance waterproofing products and specialty systems. GCP products have been used to build some of the world’s most renowned structures.
GCP’s flagship product, GRACE ICE & WATER SHIELD®, the original self-adhered roofing underlayment, protects roofs from extreme weather such as wind-driven rain and ice dams.
The GRACE ICE & WATER SHIELD® underlayment seals around the fasteners used to attach the shingles, which helps prevent water buildup from leaking into the house. This premier underlayment also sticks to the roof deck to keep water from traveling under the underlayment and entering the house via a vulnerable roof deck joint.
For over 40 years, contractors have relied on GRACE ICE & WATER SHIELD®, fully-adhered roofing underlayment from GCP to provide quality protection. GRACE ICE & WATER SHIELD®, self-adhered roofing underlayment provides premium performance as it seals to itself at overlaps, seals to the roof deck and, most importantly, seals around the fasteners used to attach the shingles, which helps prevent water from leaking into your home. In the event roof coverings are blown off or water manages to get underneath your shingles, these underlayments are the key to preventing water infiltration.
GRACE ICE & WATER SHIELD® HT meets the challenges inherent in metal roofs. This high temperature self-adhered roofing underlayment is a premier membrane designed to deliver premium in-place performance for high temperature applications
GRACE ULTRA™ butyl underlayment is designed for extreme temperature roof assemblies. It's composed of two waterproofing materials—an aggressive 100% butyl rubber adhesive backed by a layer of high-density cross laminated polyethylene film
GRACE SELECT™ is the performance alternative to granular surfaced underlayments. GRACE SELECT™ roofing underlayment is composed of two waterproofing materials—a rubberized asphalt adhesive, backed by a layer of high-density cross laminated polyethylene film.

VYCOR® enV-S™ represents the next generation of weather resistive barriers and is designed to provide superior weather protection, and improved energy performance. The membrane brings together the weather protection benefits of a self-adhered membrane, with the breathability of traditional housewraps. The unique adhesive coating bonds strongly to the sheathing, but remains vapor permeable. VYCOR® enV-S™ resists damage in windy conditions, leading to less rework and a high quality appearance.
Unlike conventional building wraps, installation of VYCOR® enV-S™ weather resistive barrier requires no mechanical fastening or taping of seams. The membrane bonds to the sheathing, self seals at overlaps, and seals around fasteners used to install siding and other wall elements. This results in exceptionally low levels of air leakage, and improved energy efficiency of the building.
Keeping walls dry is the key to preventing rot of structural elements and mold growth. VYCOR® enV-S™ fully-adhered barrier protects against wind driven rain. VYCOR® enV-S™ vapor permeable membrane allows the wall system to “breathe”, and water vapor to escape.
Make weather delays a thing of the past with
PERM-A-BARRIER® VPL 50RS UV STABLE Membrane.
A vapor permeable liquid applied air barrier with an
effective formula and superior water resistance.
Liquid-applied air barriers are faster to apply than
traditional materials, but the material can wash off in the
rain. GCP has addressed this problem with
PERM-A-BARRIER® VPL 50RS UV Stable liquid-applied
air barrier, a solution that resists water quickly after
installation. This feature enables contractors to complete
projects faster by reducing rain delays. Total project costs
are lower than competitive latex technologies, resulting in
In addition, PERM-A-BARRIER® VPL 50RS UV Stable air barrier remains UV stable behind open joints and can be exposed for up to 12 months and can be applied in temperatures as low as 10°F, offering more flexibility in scheduling.
PERM-A-BARRIER® VPL 50RS UV Stable air barrier enhances energy efficiency, providing superior protection against air and water vapor. Ideal for projects requiring breathable characteristics, PERM-A-BARRIER® VPL 50RS UV Stable air barrier permits water vapor through that could otherwise condense in the wall, yet it is impermeable to liquid water, so it can act as a water drainage solution.
GCP Residential Building Envelope Specialist Rob White was recently a guest on "1/2 In the Toolbag Podcast."
Rob is responsible for GCP distribution and dealer partnerships in Eastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Maine. He enjoys working directly with contractors and architects to provide solutions to make their job easier and more efficient, as well as provide products that meet the demands of the local weather challenges.
Oak Development & Design CEO, television producer and star of Heart of Oak and podcast host PJ Antonik asks Rob about his career journey, GCP's stand-out products such as GRACE ICE & WATER SHIELD® and why we need to think about building differently to deal with the new and unexpected forces of mother nature. It's a fun and informative conversation while at JLC in April.
GCP’s Vycor® enV-S™ self-adhered weather resistive barrier provides an advanced alternative to house wraps. It is a highly durable membrane that directly adheres to the sheathing, avoiding the tears and costly reworks commonly associated with traditional house wraps. The wall is protected from water damage and the job site looks neat, sealed, and attractive even during construction.
As homebuilders seek to promote the energy efficiency of the homes they build, Vycor® enV-S™ weather resistive barrier represents the latest in residential building science to create an air-tight, yet breathable home, and achieve the highest product performance available. While it does not require mechanical fasteners for its installation, Vycor® enV-S™ membrane forms a water- and air-tight seal around the fasteners used to install siding and exterior finishing materials, thus avoiding the numerous leak points typical for traditional house wraps.
Importantly, this advanced weather barrier adheres to itself, improving protection at the laps, which are vulnerable points for air and water leaks. It does not require taping of seams or other special joint treatment. As a result, Vycor® enV-S™ membrane helps ensure peace of mind to homebuilders both during and after installation, helps reduce costly callbacks, and helps provide labor savings.
