In a recent episode of Coffee Conversations, we spoke with industry experts about merger and acquisitions trends in roofing.

Are you considering acquiring a roofing company? Maybe you are planning on merging with another roofing business, or you want your business to be acquired. We recently hosted an episode of Coffee Conversations where we heard from roofing industry experts about how you can successfully navigate the merger and acquisition process.

More and more mergers and acquisitions are taking place in the roofing industry. Trent Cotney, partner at Adams and Reese, discussed these trends in our episode of Coffee Conversations. He said, “I haven't really seen a slow-down. I mean everything's a go.”

Mike Blumenfeld, managing director at MAB Corporate Advisors, also said that there is a lot of companies interested in making some kind of deal. “What we've seen this year is a lot more companies coming to market, so some of them are hiring advisors,” he said.

The growth of these deals in the roofing industry is both new and exciting. Bobby Mesmer, CEO of RMG Erectors and Constructors, said that banks and investors used to not want to invest in construction companies. “Nobody wanted to go near it,” he said. “And now to see what's going on in the market and that equity and private equity and venture capital are out there for construction because they see the value of a good ran company, that's exciting.”

Stephanie Tsatsos, professional EOS implementer with EOS Worldwide, provided valuable insight as someone who works directly with roofing contractors and companies. She discussed the trend of interest in the roofing industry from private equity. “I had one company that was a midsize roofing company. They said they're getting 40 to 50 outreaches a month,” she said. “It's just a healthy space, lots of really positive activity.”
