Stop Learning the Hard Way

Sashco Stop Learning the Hard Way
June 28, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.

By Cass Jacoby, RCS Reporter.

Charis Babcock talks to RCS about why education is key to contractor success.

In Season 4, Episode 7 the Roofing Road Trips podcast, Sashco’s Charis Babcock meets with RCS COO Karen L. Edwards for a conversation on the Zero Failures seminar from Sashco. The class is designed to hone in on contractors' strengths and weaknesses so they can build a highly successful company that is constantly growing and thriving.

Sascho realizes that a contractor is a very skilled craftsman and does good work, but that doesn't necessarily mean they have adequate knowledge and training to run their businesses efficiently. For most contractors, learning is a lot of trial by fire.

That’s the seed that the Zero Failures webinar grew out of. The first Zero Failures seminars in 1998 were developed specifically to help contractors with the process of their log home projects. “We knew that if we were able to educate them on the entire process of finishing a log home from beginning to end, it would mean success for them,” says Charis.

With the success of this seminar, Sashco branched out to help contractors with the fundamentals of business as well. This win-win program is all about setting contractor partners up for the future. “Helping contractors improve their businesses, helps us improve ours too,” says Charis. “We really want to see that they're being successful with what they've been taught. And we're always following up to see if there’s something new we can learn from them.”

At the end of the day, prioritizing education is a part of Sashco’s commitment to contractor success. “Getting more education, especially around how to sell your services and how to value your services is going to be a life changer” says Charis. “The more you prioritize your education, the more your business is going to grow and the more successful it's going to be.”
