Stronger shingles and smarter support

Stronger shingles and smarter support

IKO is making strategic updates to help contractors sell more confidently, connect with homeowners and grow their business.

With over 70 years of experience and a reputation for reliability, IKO Industries continues to evolve by listening to its contractor partners and homeowners alike. From bold new shingle colors to enhanced product performance and an expanded contractor loyalty program, IKO is focused on creating better experiences on and off the roof. During an interview at the Canadian Roofing Expo earlier this year, Megan Ellsworth met with Lee Hooper, regional sales manager for Ontario on the residential side, who shared how these updates are reshaping the customer journey and supporting roofing professionals along the way.

One of the most visible changes coming out of IKO has been a complete brand refresh. But it wasn’t just for the aesthetics; it was a strategic move to help roofers stand out and make it easier for homeowners to navigate product choices. “Our marketing team has done a really great job of freshening up the look of the product to help the consumer shop, and to differentiate our product lineup,” Lee shared.

IKO also introduced a new matte black option to its Dynasty product line. “We found that consumers were looking for a sleeker, flat-tone aesthetic and wanted to listen to that,” Lee said. The result is a modern, versatile look that works across a wide range of home styles.

But it’s not just about aesthetics. The company has also stepped up the performance of its shingles across the board. IKO’s Cambridge line of shingles have been upgraded to a Class 3 impact rating, giving homeowners added protection from hail and extreme weather. For those in areas where severe weather is more frequent, the Nordic line continues to offer a Class 4 impact-rated option. Contractors can feel confident offering these products knowing they combine curb appeal with the durability today’s homeowners expect.

To support contractors beyond the product, IKO has continued to grow its ROOFPRO contractor loyalty program. The tiered ROOFPRO Advantage program gives you access to exclusive rebates, marketing perks and industry-leading partners. Designed to meet contractors where they are, it’s a smart way to build long-term relationships and scale your business confidently.
