Roofing gets a tech upgrade with smart lifting solutions

Roofing gets a tech upgrade with smart lifting solutions

Smart lifting meets mobility: Equipter and Construction Robotics partner to move heavy materials safely and efficiently on the jobsite.

During the World of Concrete® show earlier this year, Equipter unveiled an exciting new collaboration that could reshape how roofing contractors approach heavy lifting on the jobsite. The company has teamed up with Construction Robotics, creators of the MULE (Material Unit Lift Enhancer), to bring smart lifting technology into more trades – including roofing.

In a live interview during the show, Heidi J. Ellsworth met with Scott Peters, co-founder and CEO of Construction Robotics to see the technology in action. “We work to make jobs and lives easier for contractors,” Scott shared.

At the heart of the collaboration is the MZ100, a battery-powered lifting tool designed to make materials up to 100 pounds virtually weightless. Until now, the MULE was mainly used in masonry. But with Equipter’s mobile platform, contractors can now tow the MULE to a jobsite, raise it up to 12 feet and use it to lift and place heavy materials in hard-to-reach areas.

“The Equipter collaboration really opens up opportunities to explore roofing and other trades,” Scott explained. “Now that we have this super portable option, it’s going to open up a ton of exciting chances.”

The smart technology behind the MULE senses motion and force, allowing for intuitive, weightless movement of materials. And with versatile grippers that adapt to different shapes and sizes – including custom cams, hooks and fail-safe mechanisms – the system is built to withstand the weight of the jobsite.

This could mean fewer injuries, faster production and a new level of precision when handling materials.
