Many people in the roofing industry are probably familiar with the Equipter 4000. If you haven’t heard of it, it is the towable and self-propelled debris container that incorporates a powerful scissor lift. With the capability of reaching 12 feet into the air and supporting up to 4,000 pounds, this machine easily keeps jobsites clean and professional.
It was developed by Aaron Beiler, who prior to founding the Equipter worked in a successful family run roofing business for 15 years. He created the Equipter 4000 to fix problems he was having on the jobsite and then realized that he could bring it to other contractors. Recently, we caught up with Aaron while at the 2025 International Roofing Expo to see what new innovations and solutions Equipter is working on.
Aaron highlighted two of their newer pieces of equipment, the Equipter 2000 and the Tow-A-Lift. The Equipter 2000 is a lighter, more maneuverable version of the original Equipter 4000. Aaron explained, “We’re very excited about this model, as a smaller unit that is under three-feet wide, it can get into tighter spots.” While this smaller size means that it has a lower weight capacity than the 4000 version, it can still reach up to seven feet and makes any jobsite more efficient and cleaner.
Turning to the Tow-A-Lift, which is also often called Equipter’s towable forklift, Aaron shared that what makes this machine unique is its transportability. He explained, “A lot of people are familiar with a Moffet or a piggyback for this type of work. For those you need a bigger truck. With the Tow-A-Lift, you can have any kind of truck, hook it up, tow it down the highway, disconnect it and then you're immediately able to move your pallets of materials off your pickup and around the jobsite.” With the capacity to move up to 3,500 pounds over uneven terrain, this innovative unit can make the most challenging projects seem easy.
Beyond the convenience and efficiency that equipment like the 4000, 2000 and Tow-A-Lift offer contractors, it also helps give homeowners peace of mind. Aaron explained, “It’s very impressive to the homeowners, keeps the jobsite clean and it gives your company a professional image. I was a roofing contractor myself and it really transformed my company from that perspective... For almost every homeowner, their number one concern is, ‘How you are going to protect my property when you're removing the debris off the house.’”
