New Desktop Access: Bridging the Gap Between Field and Office

Trimble New Desktop Access

By Trimble.

With the new Contractor WorkZone feature, you can now access the app from your desktop computer.

When we set out to create Contractor WorkZone, our primary focus was on mobile. How could we impact people in the field the most? We wanted to improve the experience and efficiency of the person who had to shuffle through stacks of papers in their trucks. Or the person who had to drive back to their home or office to produce an estimate or locate a purchase order or change order. Streamlining this paper-based process was critical to us. We all carry our phones with us, usually in our pockets, so we started there.

Currently with the Contractor WorkZone app, you can use your phone or tablet to upload documents and/or photos to the cloud as well as send them to an employee, subcontractor, client, and so on. Once the documents are sent or accessed via the cloud, they can be used for electronic record keeping. If you’re in the field and need to get information to someone in your office, you’ll need to upload and/or send documents to the office-based person. It’s worked well for decreasing the time spent creating and managing paperwork.

And now it’s getting even easier and more efficient!

With the new Contractor WorkZone feature, you can now access the app from your desktop computer. This helps to bridge the gap between the field and the office, saving precious time on any project. Instead of waiting on a document to be sent via email or uploaded to the cloud, they can access it through the Contractor WorkZone app on their desktop.

The new desktop access feature means you can be in the field and create an estimate, then have a key person like a subcontractor, add in details for their part of the project from their office. Then you can easily approve the information from inside the app and send the estimate to your client.

We took the same approach with the new desktop access feature for the Contractor WorkZone app. The same elements you love with Contractor WorkZone mobile apply to the desktop access: a simple, easy-to-use tool that’s intuitive and efficient.

Now you can make the most of your Contractor WorkZone app wherever you are, from the field to the office.
