Jenny Yu: Hey everyone, my name is Jenny Yu and I'm here with RoofersCoffeeShop® for a June Influencer response today with Trent Cotney of Adams and Reese. How's it going today, Trent?
Trent Cotney: Good, how are you doing?
Jenny Yu: Doing well today. Thank you for being here to discuss sustainability, green roofs and market demand. We're hoping you could share some insights about how people can position themselves as those trusted experts outside of roofing circles.
Trent Cotney: Yeah, so, green roofing and sustainability always has a place within construction, in particular, roofing. So, part of marketing and go-to market strategies for these types of roof systems is to make sure that you are combining it with an overall plan that deals with the building envelope. So typically, if you are working with architects, design consultants, engineers, that is the best way to go about getting a lot of these projects because many of them are unique in nature. Some of them are government-based, so it'll be public good work. Others may be private development work. But regardless, I've seen the bulk of these projects be generated from the design element, right? Rarely is it a direct go-to market to a roofing contractor on the more complex green roof system. So, makes sense.
It's also certain pockets geographically where you see it more. I'll see more green roofs in California, the Northeast and Chicago, certain areas, less likely in places like Florida, where there are hurricane zones and things like that that make it a little bit more difficult. So, knowing where to go and who to pitch to, I think, is always something that's important.
Jenny Yu: Awesome. Thank you so much for your thoughts. Everyone, be sure to check out Trent's RoofersCoffeeShop directory and our website to see more Influencer responses. Thank you.
Trent Cotney: Thanks.
