Beacon has built what we like to call the Total Rewards System that encompasses benefits, work environment, personal development and compensation. In our benefits suite we offer health and welfare, wellness, retirement and paid time off.
Beacon offers several comprehensive plans for medical, dental and vision while offering employees the opportunity to receive our lowest medical premiums by participating in the Beacon Wellness Program. We encourage our employees to participate the Beacon Wellness Program because not only does participating in the program help our employees receive our lowest medical premium, but it also supports our employees’ health and well-being.
Employees that enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan also receive a Health Savings Account (HSA). The HSA provides a cost-effective way for our employees to receive health care and plan for retirement. Beacon contributes $500 for employee-only coverage and $1,000 for family coverage for the year to the employee HSA account (prorated based on the enrollment date, if not during Open Enrollment).
One of my favorite health benefits is access to MDLIVE. MDLIVE is offered through our health plan and connects you to a board-certified doctor by phone or online video chat. I have personally used this service to connect my husband to a doctor in a time of need, and I have used this service while at work for a non-emergency condition. Most recently, I recommended this service to an employee that was feeling under the weather so that the employee could avoid a physical doctor’s office during COVID-19 and lower their risk to exposure.
Beacon also offers a free Employee Assistance service that gives our employees and their dependents access to master’s-degreed clinicians 24/7 by phone, online, live chat, email and text. In addition to face-to-face assessments and counselling sessions the service can also help with referrals on important needs like education, adoption, travel, daily living and care for your pet, child or elderly loved one.
