Exactly.  It may need to be all virtual for now on sales.  RT3 is doing a webinar on this tomorrow and we will have a link on RCS to see it.  Video chat Facetime may be another important customer communication tool.

As a supplier of roofing materials, we have restricted business travel for our staff and encouraged them to communicate with customers via phone and video call only. This, of course, removes some of the the convenience of meeting "face-to-face," but at a time like this is naturally the right thing to do. General Coatings remains available for all our customers' needs. Hoping everyone is staying safe out there! Here is a link to the announcement.

I had another question come in today from the media about how are roofing company's dealing with multiple employees riding in trucks to job sites.  Are you limiting the number of employees per vehicle?

We are recommending no more than 2 employees in a vehicle and if possible, just a driver.  Crews are driving to jobs in their own vehicles and/or taking more company trucks to the jobsite.

Our salesman are using Gotomeeting for needs analyis and sales presentations.  No emailed proposals.  Docusign for contracts.  The close rate is slightly lower, but the increase in efficiency is actually pretty good so far. This may be the future!  Right now its much easier to sell as its not difficult to get the complete buying party together (gotta find the silver lining somewhere).

Hi Ken,

These are trying times for sure. From your question, I am not sure of the exact specifics that are causing you the most issues, but in general terms, this is time to reevaluate how you go to the market and how your business operates. For increasing your business presence, social media is the way to go. Try to promote not just your company but your knowledge of what your business does and why you someone would buy off you compared to a competitor. 

Operational you must get a handle on accounts receivables and cash flow. They are the lifeline of your business. Review your processes and streamline them to be as efficient as possible. Review all your expenses and immediately shut down any unnecessary ones and always look for the ones that generate the best return on investment. If you have a more specific question, I am happy to see if I can answer it.
