Single ply roofing membranes (sometimes referred to as PVC or TPO) have grown in popularity over the past 30 years for use on commercial buildings, thanks to their flexibility, relative ease of installation and competitive price. Single Ply roofing is composed of four basic elements:
1. An insulation layer
2. A single ply membrane usually made of plastic or rubber
3. Flashing
4. An adhesive that melds the layers together
Metal roofs have been a standard feature on barns and sheds for years. However, its popularity is growing each year. In particular, metal roofing is becoming more and more popular with commercial roofing and retail properties due to it being extremely light, weighing between one quarter and one half as much as other roofing materials. It's also an excellent option in cooler climates that receive snowfall, due its inherent ability to allow snow to slide to the ground rather than building up on the roof.

What is foam roofing? The foam is a combination of isocyanate and polyol. These two components are fed through a spray gun that heats and pumps the materials onto the roof surface. As it is applied, tiny air bubbles are trapped within the foam, making it particularly effective at insulating the roof, both from heat and cold. Studies have shown that foam roofing frequently produces energy savings of 30% or greater when compared to other roofing systems.

Tile is an extremely versatile option for commercial roofing, especially when a more decorative and esthetic look is desired. Tile, particularly clay or terracotta, can add an old-world or historic flair to a roof that is very attractive to guests, visitors or clients. With the new shapes, sizes, colors and styles that are available today, commercial buildings can also achieve an extremely modern and updated look. Another bit of good news is that tile also holds its color very well over the years and is not subject to fading. Global Roofing Group has plenty of experience on tile roofing, particularly since it is such a popular and attractive product in the southwestern United States.
