The Strategy of Preeminence

Jay Abraham’s philosophy of preeminence is one of the best business and life lessons that you will ever learn.  

His philosophy boils down to this: “My strategy is simply to get businesses to demand maximum performance from anything they or their teams do.  Within your niche market, you are seen as the only viable solution. You understand and articulate the market’s needs, hopes, dreams, and problems better than anyone else, and you offer clear-cut solutions that your market will prize and desire exclusively from you.”

There are a lot of contractors that do great work.  They have amazing craftsmanship skills and deliver amazing service to their clients.  When I attended a roofing awards ceremony last year, I remember seeing the deep pride in the faces of the contractors that had won an award; a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that only comes after a completed project.

One of the biggest challenges that contractors face is learning to articulate that amazing service into the online world.  The Internet and social media have changed the world dramatically for small businesses everywhere.

This mindset of thinking they’re not “tech” people holds contractors back from achieving preeminence in their marketplace.  If you do great work and deliver amazing service but no one knows about it, are you really maximizing your potential? This means that as the preeminent contractor in your marketplace, it’s your fiduciary responsibility to your employees, customers, and community to do whatever it takes to succeed online.

To achieve preeminence you have to always anticipate what the latest trends and technology are in your marketplace and being found online.  You know this because online marketing is a way of the present and the future.
