Sneak a peak of the QXO Online management system for contractors

Sneak a peak of the QXO Online management system
May 7, 2025 at 4:34 p.m.

By Emma Peterson.

3 ways you can boost your business operations with QXO.com.

Managing your roofing business can be one of the most challenging parts of the job, but it doesn’t have to be that way thanks to QXO (formerly Beacon Building Products)’s online platform. This system gives you the tools to manage your roofing business online with ease. To learn more about how this platform works, Karen Edwards spoke to Gabriela Fornino for a Read Listen Watch® (RLW) about QXO.com. QXO.com is a comprehensive eCommerce platform designed for the roofing industry. It includes a variety of features that allow contractors to streamline their businesses. This includes:

1 - Real-time inventory and pricing

One of the biggest benefits of using the QXO Online management system is access to their catalog. This catalog not only offers real-time inventory and pricing, but it is customizable based on your location. Gabriela shared, “Basically, if you're an East Coast customer, you're not seeing things that you're not going to need to purchase available on the West Coast. It’s very centric to your area, so you're only finding what you want along with the resources involved with that.”

Once you find a product that you are interested in, you can easily click into the listing to see more details, like install instructions and brochures. Gabriela explained, “If we click in on an item, we're brought to a product detail page where we have some related items listed out along with product specs. Basically, if you're looking for quick data sheets, install instructions, brochures, warranty information and more, our catalog is a one-stop shop.”

2 - Custom order templates

But QXO.com doesn’t stop at giving you a real-time priced catalog. Users can take the product listings and then create custom templates for fast ordering. Gabriela elaborated, “Think about this like a grocery list, we always have those staple items like bread or cheese. The same with our material orders for roofing, we have our checklist that we always run through. Through templates, we're able to replicate that. If someone has an existing order sheet that they like to use, or checklist they like to use, we'll put it right in the system.” By creating a templated starting material list, QXO.com saves contractors time that they would traditionally spend searching up individual materials one-by-one.

The other benefit of having customer order templates is the ability to easily see your order history. Gabriela explained, “You can search through your order history just by a simple PO number, the street name from a delivery, your order number, whatever that might be, date or date range for the order to pinpoint and find what you're looking for to pull up the details on there.” This makes it easy to reorder materials or to track the efficiency of your material estimating.

3 - Delivery tracking

And it’s not just your past orders that you can track in QXO.com, this platform also helps you track exactly where your materials are after you order them. Gabriela shared, “We know how difficult it is for contractors to keep track of where their material is always, especially if they have multiple projects going on at once. So, QXO.com creates a way for key points of contact to know where their materials are.”
