For more than two decades, Absolute Construction has been a trusted name in roofing throughout Texas, Kansas and Missouri. While specializing in storm restoration work, the company also focuses on roof replacement and installation for a variety of situations. Connor Wood, director of specialty roofing division, shares his insights on working in the roofing industry and the increases in business his company has seen over the years with installation of synthetic slate products.

How did you get started in the roofing business?

Totally by accident. My dad was a builder, so I grew up around construction. I started out in business development, moved into project management and realized I had a knack for it. Ten years later, I’m still doing it and still learning every day.

Tell us about your company's “15-Year DaVinci Anniversary Home."

We’ve recommended and installed DaVinci products for 15 years. This was a beautiful project from start to finish. It gave us the opportunity to showcase our craftsmanship through the custom fabrication of half-round copper vents and copper dormers. The staggered DaVinci Multi-Width Slate tile installation let us demonstrate our deep product knowledge. The project as a whole really reflects our growth in the industry and where we’re headed in the future.

I really think it’s the 15-Year DaVinci Anniversary Home we just completed. A truly one-of-a-kind home, full of intricate details and unique challenges that allowed us to showcase the depth of our craftsmanship. From custom copper work to precise installation, it was the perfect project to highlight our expertise and of course, it featured a stunning DaVinci product.
