Have a Policy in Place Regarding Side Work

RCS Influencer Sarah Weiss says side work off limits for employees of distributors.

From a distributor’s perspective, we would absolutely never allow one of our employees to perform side jobs. That would mean that our employees would be in direct competition with our customers. We want to be very respectful of our customers so it is very important that right up front we make sure our employees know the boundaries and that doing side work is not allowed.

Our main goal is to support our contractor base. We do not and will not compete with our customers.  If as a contractor you run into an employee from your distributor performing side work, you have every right to be frustrated and angry. It should be addressed immediately.

Sarah Weiss is a founding partner and COO of Elite Roofing Services. Her full bio can be found here..
