Getting accurate measurements is a key part of any roofing project. If they are not accurate, it can throw off your entire material ordering process and project timeline. But it can be challenging to get good measurements efficiently, especially when the roof you are working with is damaged in any way.
Luckily, Eagleview’s measurement tools are solving that problem! Eagleview uses aerial imagery to create accurate roof measurements that keep your team’s feet on the ground. Not only does this keep your team safer, but it also makes your processes more efficient as Eagleview’s measurements are so accurate that you can forget the old adage and just measure once!
Just last June, a report came out from CompassData, a Colorado-based firm that specializes in accurate surveying and mapping solutions, that showed Eagleview’s measurement reports to be 98.77% accurate.
They came to this conclusion by selecting a variety of homes in the Denver, Colorado area and measuring them using both drone and terrestrial LIDAR. They then created a three-dimensional model using this data and extrapolated measurements from it. They then compared Eagleview’s reports for these same properties to their measurements.
On roof linear measurements there was an average difference of 0.2 linear feet (2.4 inches) between Eagleview’s report and the LIDAR model. This is equivalent to 98.77% accuracy across compared rooflines. As for roof area measurements, the difference was an average 5.61 square feet which is an accuracy of 98.43% across compared roof planes. Last but not least, when looking at roof slope measurements, the accuracy was 98.49%.
The long story short? Eagleview’s measurement reports are so accurate that they can be directly tied to real-world savings. For example, when ordering materials for an average 1,800-square-foot roof, you can expect to save hundreds of dollars per project when you use Eagleview rather than a competing measurement service.
Piers Dormeyer, CEO of Eagleview, shared, “We want to save our customers time and money, which is why we are dedicated to delivering the best quality products on the market. It’s gratifying to have the truth of our business validated by third party researchers.”
