How to Boost Your Roofing Business by Using Social Media

RCS Maximize use of Social Media
June 12, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.

By Cayden Wemple.

When you use newer social media tools, like TikTok or Instagram Reels, you are giving your roofing company the marketing boost it needs.

Marketing your roofing business can seem pretty tough, but if you aren’t using social media to make it easier, you are missing out! With the advancements made in smart phones and apps, it is now easier than ever to market your business via social media. Two of the best platforms to be using today are TikTok and Instagram, as they are used by billions of people and are pretty easy to get the hang of.

Here are some easy ways your company can grow your business on TikTok and Instagram:

Consistently post content

Creating your profile is one thing, but if you let it sit there without regularly updating it, you aren’t doing your business any favors. If a potential customer were to look up your Instagram or TikTok account and they find you haven't posted anything recently, it makes it look like your business is inactive. We recommend posting at least once a week or a few times a month.

If you’re struggling with what exactly you should post, our best advice is to not overthink it! If you can’t get a good video of a roofing project you’re working on, this doesn’t mean you can’t make a good video. Some of our best performing videos on our TikTok and Instagram pages have been our funnier videos that don’t take too long to create. We recommend getting ideas for videos by researching trending sounds on TikTok or by finding templates on the app CapCut.

Keep your audience engaged

Posting quality content is one thing, but you also must keep your audience engaged. According to AccuLynx, replying to messages or comments is a great way to highlight your company’s customer service skills. They state: “By engaging with customers in various lifecycle stages through Instagram, you're showing them that you are responsive and able to address concerns or questions.”

Aside from replying to comments and messages, you also want to create your content in a way that redirects potential customers to your website. We recommend adding any kind of call to-action at the end of your captions. Here are a few examples:

  • “Visit the link in our bio to learn more!”
  • “Let us know in the comments what you think!”
  • “Like this video if you want to see more!”

Utilize the tools Instagram and TikTok provide

Instagram and TikTok are designed to keep users on the platform as long as possible, and this includes businesses. They offer a variety of ways to make it easy to create content and get that content in front of your targeted demographic. They both offer easy-to-use video editing software and fun templates. When you create your caption and add hashtags, you can actually see which ones get the most views on their site. We recommend using 6-8 relevant and popular hashtags to get your video in front of potential customers’ eyes.
