Getting the Most Out of Trade Shows

JobNimbus- Trade Shows

By JobNimbus.

If you’re wanting to grow your business, attending a roofing trade show can provide a number of benefits for propelling your business forward.

Trade shows are great opportunities for you to gain industry knowledge, be exposed to new products and ideas, expand your network plus more.

But before you decide to attend, you’ll want to know how to get the most out of your experience. Arriving without a clear plan or objective can result in you leaving wondering where all your time went. A little preparing can go a long way, so here are three simple ways to make the most out of your next trade show:

1- Plan out your visit

Decide ahead of time what you want to accomplish and learn. This includes what exhibitors you want to visit, items you need to purchase, seminars to attend and more.

You should come with questions prepared and appointments scheduled. That way, you’ll have priority at booths you want to see, and you’ll save time. After you’ve checked off your list of vendors to visit, you’re free to explore. You can also pre-register to avoid confusion once you get to the show.

2 - Dress appropriately

Trade shows entail a lot of walking and a lot of standing. You’ll want to bring a couple pairs of comfortable shoes to get you through the day. You should also dress in business casual clothes that represent your business and your professionalism.

A bag or suitcase are perfect to bring to a trade show for storing pamphlets, product samples and business cards that you’d like to take home with you. If you’re attending in the winter, check your coats in so that you don’t have to haul it around while you’re walking the floor. Trade shows are crowded, so it could get very hot having to wear it all day.

3 - Network and take notes

Don’t be scared to introduce yourself or engage in conversation. Try to meet businesses that you’re interested in working with or learning from. Be sure to bring plenty of your own business cards to hand out, along with a notebook and pen to take notes in. Place other companies’ business cards on the page where you wrote down notes or write the information on the back of the business card itself.

You can also use your phone to take pictures of things you want to save. That way, you will leave the trade show with information you can remember and analyze for future actions.

It’s common to have additional questions or want further details after you’ve returned from a trade show and processed everything.

To make this easier for you, you can channel the information you’ve gathered by utilizing your JobNimbus software. JobNimbus is a CRM and project management software that makes managing and accessing your information possible from anywhere.

So, for the next trade show you attend, JobNimbus will help you make your trade show experience even more optimal and efficient. Start your free trial with JobNimbus here and discover all the ways JobNimbus can empower your business for success.
