Built for the jobsite, backed by experience

Built for the jobsite, backed by experience

Van Mark tools last for decades, perform consistently and have evolved to meet the changing needs of roofing contractors.

As Van Mark Products’ regional sales manager for the eastern U.S. and parts of Canada, Scott Totin works with sales reps, distributors and contractors to help them find the right tool for their needs. But before joining Van Mark, he spent decades in construction, working with the very tools he now sells, and often troubleshooting issues firsthand. We recently sat down with Scott to learn more about why Van Mark tools continue to earn loyalty from contractors across the industry.

Built to last, so you’re not buying twice

Contractors are often tempted by cheaper tools because every penny counts – especially for small crews. But Scott has seen how those short-term savings often backfire. “If you buy a product that doesn’t last, now you’re buying it again. Or worse, you’re not able to work or finish the job because it’s broken,” he explains.

Van Mark tools are designed for longevity with minimal maintenance. Their brakes and accessories have been used in the field for decades sometimes. “I meet people that say, ‘Yeah, I bought one of your tools 35 years ago and I’ve hardly had to do anything to it.’ That’s a point of pride,” shares Scott. “You don’t really know how low maintenance these tools are until you own one.”

That kind of dependability brings peace of mind, and it’s good for your business. With fewer breakdowns and less time spent waiting on replacement parts, Van Mark users stay busy all season long.

Versatility and innovation

Van Mark’s product line includes a wide range of tools in multiple sizes, tailored to contractors with very different needs. “If you’re just doing small repairs, you don’t want to haul out a 10-foot brake,” Scott emphasizes. “We offer brakes as small as two feet and up to 14 feet, depending on what you’re doing.”

Their versatility allows you to find the right fit across several jobs and varying needs. And each product is constantly being refined. Scott shares, “We’re constantly asking ourselves what we can do better. We talk to crews using our products and a lot of our improvements come from those conversations.”

The company’s dedication to quality, innovation and customer service has helped them earn the trust of contractors for over 60 years. And with knowledgeable employees like Scott behind the brand – people who’ve been in your boots and understand what the job demands – it's easy to see why.
