Building bridges and businesses

GLO Group Building Bridges with Business
March 19, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.

By Emma Peterson.

The GLO Group helps companies find more success by aligning their internal goals and emphasizing customer experience.

Heidi J. Ellsworth sat down with Monica Vornbrock and Melissa Chapman, the co-owners of The GLO Group, in Season 5, Episode 74 of Roofing Road Trips®. Melissa has been in the industry for several decades, in multiple positions with a focus on business development and marketing. Monica has also been in the industry for a while, having started in advertising and then moving into creative marketing and branding 15 years ago.

The GLO Group, which is three years old now, is their joint creation. Monica explained that it is a full-service brand engagement and organizational health firm. She shared, “It is a result of many years of love towards marketing, communication and creating connections.” The connections they are focused on bridge the space between organizations and their employees, as well as their brand's unique value and their customers' needs.

Melissa explained, “There was no universal way to communicate within the companies we assessed and that it was negatively impacting their business performance.” The team at the GLO Group address this issue by their approach of viewing marketing as a conversation that is directly influenced by whether an organization is aligned, whether employees, owners, clients, and partners.

Heidi added a bit of her experience with miscommunication issues, sharing, “Often you put all this work into a program, but sales wasn’t talking to marketing or customer service and marketing weren't talking or customer service wasn’t talking to sales, and it doesn't even go into operations.”  The way Monica and Melissa’s company addresses these miscommunications isn’t a new platform or messaging app, but rather they realized it boils down to the company’s culture. Monica explained, “Once an organization's culture is centered around employee growth and developing connections, that translates into a more engaged team, improved productivity and more innovative, problem-solving employees.” All of this reflects on the customer’s experience with the company and ultimately impacts the company’s success.
