A Contractor’s Secret Weapon

Rick Rominger of TopShield® explains how performance products can increase your productivity and profitability.

In season 3, episode 68 of our Roofing Road Trips podcast, Heidi J. Ellsworth, RCS Partner, visits with Rick Rominger, TopShield director of private label with SRS Distribution, about how performance products can boost your business.

“I am a lifelong resident of building products,” says Rick. “I started with SRS two and a half, three years ago to help define TopShield, help define the brand of Top Shield, help create the messaging and the marketing strategy around TopShield and really the growing portfolio of the exceptional products that we do offer.” 

Rick tells Heidi a bit about the history and growth of TopShield products. “It really began a few years ago and SRS put the brand on a few accessory items to the market under TopShield. But since then, we've really defined what TopShield would be. And we focused, by focusing really on an unwavering commitment to only the highest quality products,” says Rick.

Heidi and Rick talk about the importance of selecting high-quality products and why SRS customers have come to expect quality and reliability along with the performance they demand and the ongoing customer service that makes it all work. 

“It goes back to really being in an exclusive product and the quality standards that we put behind it,” says Rick. “If that contractor is using TopShield, not only are they rest assured that it's an extremely quality product, but it is an exclusive product. So that will help them in a lot of cases, separate themselves in a competitive situation.”
