Essentially all of our contractor customer orders from across the country have come by word of mouth. In order to introduce our program to new customers across the country, I decided to run a small sweepstakes with a winning prize of $1,000 (or more). Is that "word of mouth" ?
Right at the moment I'm cringing under the long shadow of an early memory. I was 18 or 19 at the time and unconsciously full of myself. I had bought some corncob pipes which all came equipped with and still come with plastic bits. Under normal conditions the plastic bit will last until the cob body swells up and splits with the heat cycling, but apparently I was gnawing on them more than normal, so I wound up with half-pipes and broken bits. Being an enterprising young lad, I typed up a short letter to Missouri Meershawm explaining my situation and asking them if it would be possible to get some bit replacements. They responded very quickly with a package containing an assortment of bits, not knowing which pipes I had purchased, along with an invoice for thirty-nine cents (it was 1968.) One couldn't have asked for more.
But I did ask for more. Filled with unwarranted and grandiose indignation I sent them a nasty little letter explaining why if they had any decency they would have offered them as free compensation for an inferior product. And they never responded. Why would they respond to such an ass? These lessons are important. They teach us that the worst traits of humans don't always come from somebody else. I've got several like that and when I least expect it I expect more. That's what they're for. To make us wake up.
I think Larry's reply told me all I needed to know.
:(
Larry doesn't get it ........
You know lots of companies come up with ideas. Remember Sean's G-Tape and Scotts Kleencutter. We wanted to help them succeed. Tim has a new product, he signed up for an ad and then asked me if he could talk about it on the forum and he is our friend! Participate than ask, be a contributor. Don't just use this forum for free advertising.
That $300 dollars was for a year, whatever.

And, shame on me for putting together a one of a kind program that teaches contractors how to substantially increase their income. Please my login information from your database immediately. Also, I will not be placing a $300 (or more) ad on your site. Thank you. Larry Burtis - 3RSystems, LLC
