If you are looking for an intelligent way to get your business good, quality leads after storms, give Hail Damage Marketing a call. The problem with that Ryan is that the storm chasers just lease an office location in the damaged area and use that address to call themselves "local". If it seems like I'm disrespecting your hail damage marketing efforts, I apologize. I'm just not personally into storm damage work. Can't stand it. It's a real P.I.T.A..

I would be interested in targeting residential homes ( owner occupied only ) that are around 8-14 years old with postcards. ( the smaller 4x6 ). I don't replace roofs, so this may be something new and different for you. I don't know. You tell me. This time of year, homeowners add/replace ventilation because the attics heat up. Especially roof mounted attic fans. The motors go out in them regularly. I also do all sorts of leak repairs, rotten wood replacement, flashing detail, Chimney caps and all manner of repair work related to a residential roof.

If you would like to put something together with some pricing and pics of what the postcards might look like attached feel free to send it to my email. Please visit my website to get a good feel for what type of work I would want to target. Thanks!

Hey Chuck,

That's actually why we promote working with local roofers. Everybody wants to work with someone local, not just somebody who is going to come in, get the job, and then not stand behind their work. I would encourage you to contact me if you are thinking about sending out postcards for anything, even if it is outside of the storm damage realm.

Actually I've been thinking about trying direct mail for quite some time now. However, it won't be to rub elbows with all the storm chasers in Nebraska or Iowa and my postcards won't be geared at hail damage or any other type of storm damage. I know it works because we had a lot of storm chasers in this area of the country a few years back and I've had numerous clients that I repaired leaks for tell me they found the storm chasers who were no longer in town to honor their warranties after receiving a direct mail postcard.

Chuck: If you go there, there will be a real roofer there!

Direct mail, especially surrounding an area you did a job in, works. It's not as cost prohibitive when you use a company like these guys. I know I used to mail 65,000 copies a month of the Roofers Exchange.

I know the best way to get leads is referrals but these postcards dredge up referrals. If someone is thinking about a roof and they don't know anyone they will keep your postcard and ask the neighbor you worked for.

Too bad there won't be many "roofers" there.

Very true, they had been talking about this storm for the last 3 days, so people were pretty well prepared when this thing rolled in! However, there is still just a ton of damage out there, and we're going to need roofers to fix it all!
