Based on the " NO " response from the author of the topic " Is this a bone job or am I missing something ?" I have received email wanting to know more. Who is interested about how the system works . I can give some insights from an adjuster point of view. My position is not so unique . That being said it is somewhat unusual being a Certified Roofing Contractor lic in the state of Florida with 25+yrs experience and a insurance adjuster lic in many states. I have access to many many adjuster who are way more experienced than I am. All the bravado about this subject taints the need for contractors and insurance company monies. I thought it might be useful info.>>>

If you have not made it known there was another layer then the supplement is the route you would take. Have the homeowner or you contact the adjuster. As important take pictures not only from the side but as each layer comes off, take a picture of the top layer than the layer below with the top layer . Take a picture of the house in progress to verify etc. The key is to take as many pics to document what you are doing. The next step is to have the homeowner apply for the supplement. It is important to follow all procedures . If the homeowner won't file for a supplement put a lien on their property for leverage. If you get stuck after following these instructions I'll try to get you through it.>>>

Johnny Thanks I appreciate it.I am glad we were able to get you unstuck. I hope we can help out others in here take the mystery out of the process. Like we have discussed , I wouldn't sign off on anything for a final until you are 100% sure it is right in every way. Remember there is a supplement process if all is not 100%. Their are a few others in here that I have been working with . If they feel comfortable I hope they chime in and give us a heads up with how the process is going what they have learned through it all.

CIAK We had a guy come out for an in progress inspection on our flood damaged home. He was a kid,and he said things like "oh my", "was it that river over there?" He seemed like a buffoon. He called me the morning of and said his girlfriend was having some trouble and he was gonna be late.We got a check so in my book he was competent. I wonder who they will send for the upcoming 50% inspection. Dont mean to hijack this thread just keeping you posted.>>>

Yes, It is after all the components of the project are input. Also another basic is the tax. These are often missed by new adjusters.>>>

Coppermann put it out there that any info concerning the insurance company would be good. I don't know where to start . One place would be if you are writing an estimate that the insurance company is paying for they will want it broken down in squares at least. Their estimating programs are component based . So the easiest for a adjuster to understand is one broken down in components. One thing that is`missed is O&P.It is different for each event and state.>>>

I won't be able to answer that one Mike . I know that if I broke my window it would be replaced for free and I stand a good chance to steaks with it. Anyone for a BBQ. There are certain shops that are what they call here Alacrity contractors. The insurance company know the quality of work they do and have an agreement with them. Copperman I think she got the same dribble from posters if I remember correctly. She had to persevere through it all. She is an example of the quality people that are out there working for the insurance companies>>>
