The article below was written by Stanislav Mishin, a blogger and columnist for the Russian newspaper Pravda.

American capitalism gone with a whimper . . . . .

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather than the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas than the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us (Russia) about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blinds the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox (Russian Orthodox) churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more than another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more than ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more then a whimper to their masters.

Then came Barack Obama's command that GM's (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of "pure" free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So it should be no surprise that the American president has followed this up with a "bold" move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happ

I think these comments can be said about almost all politicians in recent (and not so recent years) and from what I can see nobody really knows what any of these late events are going to ultimately yield, no matter how much trajectory charting is done, or how intelligently. I'm not casting aspersions on the discussion, mind you, but I wouldn't single out Obama any more than I did Bush. Our job is to push back wherever and whenever we feel the need and never to expect a single person or a single posture to yield the kind of system we want. The ideal system we think we are looking back on was always a struggle, never existed purely, and can never be reconstructed permanently.>>>

Lanny,

I would add one thing to Obamanomics............ take from those that failed, steal from those that had no control over the situation, then give it to the unions as a reward for campaign donations. That is exactly what's happening to the auto industry.>>>

Yeah, I remember those days Mike, young as I was, but the party at the fore back then was the National Front which had a distinctly racist image not to say mandate. This is the agenda of the lefties in the UK now, to cast that same mantle over the BNP, portray them as racists as opposed to Nationalist. Admitedly there is a fine line between the two. Also, the time you are reffering two was the bailout of the UK by the IMF, the country, again, being under a Labour goverment. This was ended with election of Maggie Thatcher. The Iron Fist who broke the unions.........one of the best things for the country being held hostage by Scargill and his ilk.>>>

Ammendmant: He has quadrupled the defecit.

The British have just elected two members of the British National Party to the European Parliament. A backlash against being ripped off by members of both parties, but perhaps more against Gordon Brown, his liberal/labour policies, and the rights of the Brits being constantly stripped away.

This is a prime example of how dangerous obama is and where he plans on taking this country.

Back in the old days we used to say that England was five yrs behind America. As in, when it happens here, the US (whatever IT maybe) it will happen five yrs later in the UK. It appears that now the UK may be the canary in the coalmine. Mike, Sorry for hi-jacking this thread. Gotta hair accross my ass. >>>

Amir Taheri. Telegraph Correspondent.

What do you do when you have no policy, but want to appear as if you do? In the case of Barack Obama, the answer is simple: you go around the world making speeches about your "personal journey".

The latest example came last Thursday, when Mr Obama presented his "address to the Muslim world" to an invited audience of 2,500 officials at Cairo University. The exercise was a masterpiece of equivocation and naivety. The President said he was seeking "a new beginning between the US and Muslims around the world". This implied that "Muslims around the world" represent a single monolithic bloc – precisely the claim made by people like Osama bin Laden and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who believe that all Muslims belong to a single community, the "ummah", set apart from, and in conflict with, the rest of humanity.

Obama ignored the fact that what he calls the "Muslim world" consists of 57 countries with Muslim majorities and a further 60 countries – including America and Europe – where Muslims represent substantial minorities. Trying to press a fifth of humanity into a single "ghetto" based on their religion is an exercise worthy of ideologues, not the leader of a major democracy.

Mr Obama's mea culpa extended beyond the short span of US history. He appropriated the guilt for ancient wars between Islam and Christendom, Western colonialism and America's support for despotic regimes during the Cold War. Then came the flattering narrative about Islam's place in history: ignoring the role of Greece, China, India and pre-Islamic Persia, he credited Islam with having invented modern medicine, algebra, navigation and even the use of pens and printing. Believing that flattery will get you anywhere, he put the number of Muslim Americans at seven million, when the total is not even half that number, promoting Islam to America's largest religion after Christianity.

The President promised to help change the US tax system to allow Muslims to pay zakat, the sharia tax, and threatened to prosecute those who do not allow Muslim women to cover their hair, despite the fact that this "hijab" is a political prop invented by radicals in the 1970s. As if he did not have enough on his plate, Mr Obama insisted that fighting "negative stereotypes of Islam" was "one of my duties as President of the United States". However, there was no threat to prosecute those who force the hijab on Muslim women through intimidation, blackmail and physical violence, nor any mention of the abominable treatment of Muslim women, including such horrors as "honour-killing". The best he could do was this platitude: "Our daughters can contribute just as much to society as our sons."

Having abandoned President Bush's support for democratic movements in the Middle East, Mr Obama said: "No system of government can or should be imposed on one nation by another." He made no mention of the tens of thousands of political prisoners in Muslim countries, and offered no support to those fighting for gender equality, independent trade unions and ethnic and religious minorities.

Buried within the text, possibly in the hope that few would notice, was an effective acceptance of Iran's nuclear ambitions: "No single nation should pick and choose which nations should hold nuclear weapons." Mr Obama did warn that an Iranian bomb could trigger a nuclear arms race in the region. However, the Cairo speech did not include the threat of action against the Islamic Republic – not even sanctions. The message was clear: the US was distancing itself from the resolutions passed against Iran by the UN Security Council.

As if all that weren't enough, Mr Obama dropped words such as "terror" and "terrorism" from his vocabulary. The killers of September 11 were "violent extremists", not "Islamist terrorists". In this respect, he is more politically correct than the Saudis and Egyptians, who have no qualms about describing those who kill in the name o

Peter, Has obama done anything to cancel out the wider freedom of the DHS, or NSA to monitor the American people? Like put a stop to the wiretaps or the collection/inspection of e mail. Has he closed Guantanomo Bay, or did he just say he would and then back right the fcuk off when he realised the consequences of doing so? ..................Then one would be drawn to assume that he largely agrees with them. No? Are we better off now that he has TRIPLED the national debt? How many troops has he brought home from Iraq? How many has he re-posted to Afghanistan?

What "one act of terrorism from a small group." are you referring to? ...................911? What about the Bali bombing?...... The USS Cole?......... The US embassy in Kenya? These are all claimed by Al Quaeda and they are hardly "a small group"

What "freedoms" have been taken away by the DHS? How does Putin advising not to go down the path of marxism constitute him being a "social genius"? Do you even live here? Oh,........you don't?..... so you know all this from watching the Liberal media that you malign in your post. What is your unemployment rate now? 10.... 11.... 12%? How many Poles, Rumanians, North Africans are begging for change on Grafton Street?. Is there even one Irish national serving coffee in Bewleys? Or have immigrants taken ALL low wage positions now? ............This is all Bush's fault?..... Or is it the result of the Leftist policy eminating from Europe and the "Coalition, Fianna Fail/Green party government you so obviously enjoy/support. Did the Irish stop emmigrating to the US when Bush was in power? What of the UK now? Brown is about to forced out due to NU-labour and his misguided negligent oversight. Yeah.....great job. Yesterday in his speech from Normandy he referred to OMAHA beach as OBAMA beach...............and was booed and hissed by the veterans attending. (u tube it) Wev'e gone left in protest of the Bush years.........for lack of a Republican candidate.....and because the media promoted it. And now wer'e gonna pay.

Bush was an idiot, no doubt, but he was'nt as dangerous as this misguided, egomaniacle asshole.

Mike I love America . I also know and except we didn't do it alone . I favor a middle ground with careful analysis and thoughtful consideration in which most peoples views are included. The funny truth about Obama ( I don't agree with a lot of what he is doing ) is that he would be right in the middle of the political spectrum in Europe . Peter I understand Europe also has many positive attributes to learn from. Europe also has a great history of social experiment. Remember the Magna Carta in 1215? The first British Parliament started in 1707. The French revolution? Our friends the French went bankrupt helping the Americans defeat the British. A fact which is often forgotten when Americans put down the French. The Italians have brought so much culture into our lives with the greatest cultural Renaissance in History. The Greeks were dealing with democratic concepts more that 2,000 years ago. Here in the USA we are in this great melting pot of so many cultures and points of view. The tolerance and love we have for all peoples, cultures and ideas; that is the greatness of the USA. That is the gift that we need to give back to the rest of the world. IMO>>>

Hi,

It appears the Russian Bloger would prefer to see an extended period in office of GWB ?

The man who openly introduced methods of Americans spying on each other for no real reason other than one act of terrorism from a small group.

Homeland Security appears to have taken away so many of the true freedoms that America stood for without a whimper from the people.

News Programs are now just that, heavily edited programs instead of reporting the real news in a timely manner, such is the delay and editing that American news is seen in greater detail in Europe before it is shown in edited form in the USA.

Promoting a war that could never be justified was made to appear justified by using television programs designed for entertainment but with an undertone that would have made the Goering proud.

A man who quotes Putin as if he were some form of social genius instead of the dictator he is should certainly be taken seriously, if Blair (who has been out office a long time now) and Obama were to listen to his kind then the world would be in serious trouble !

Never fear, it is true, that the only thing that we have to fear is fear itself. The American free enterprise system will survive because there are enough millions of Americans with the entrepreneurial spirit to carry on against the odds. This is a truism and will continue to work itself out as for what other reason do millions of other entrepreneurial prospects wish to legally immigrate to this nation and make a go of it in business. Even though the socialism from both Repuglicans and Demoncrats has been going on for well over the last seventy years we are still here doing our job as free enterprising people. For an example of pure socialism in health care-just look at the mess called the Veterans Hospitals and health care system of medicine for our esteemed vets.>>>

I'm not sure how to respond to that. There's not much talk about world events on this site, and I'm certainly not not, nor have I ever been, an isolationist. I am America first, for sure. But as a guy with a lot of Ukrainian (former Ruskie Commie strangled nation, still led by a Commie KGB throwback) I have a lot of interest in Eastern Europe and the north Middle East. I'm also a fan of Isreal and take a great deal of interest in US/Isreali relations.........................................

But I fail to understand in any way how an article written by a fairly well know Russian blogger that rings a lot of truth in my mind sheds any kind of light on my interest, or lack thereof, of world events, when the article is about the current take-over of our constitution by the executive arm of our government.

Some of you guys should not be quite so quick to throw stones at a guy that comes from where Obama seems to want to take us. He's eaten the grass on the other side, as have many of my Ukrainian reletives.

The system works like this: Those at the top of the oligarchy raise chickens, eat eggs, and roast fresh fowl. Then they distribute chicken shit to the masses and say "Here, spread this free fertilizer on your crops. Keep warm, eat well, and don't forget, we take 1/2 of what the field produces, cuz we gave you free chicken shit.">>>
