My wife and I stopped by the Grocery Store on the way home this evening. I grabbed a microwavable mini pizza for a snack. It was over cooked, had no flavor and burned the roof of my mouth. Even tough it tasted terrible and I wasn't really hungry, I ju>>>

The olive oil is a maybe as old poor Slovaks did not know what olive oil was nor could they afford it. Although I use butter my mom and grandma used the cheapest margarine they could buy. I could live on asparagus but I think the cabbage would overpower>>>

We were poor Slovaks. LOL

That dough recipie is the noodles. We use lard or oil, as butter was to expensive. We always added pepper to taste afterward.

It just is not the same with noodles. Although I like the noodles and cabbage too.

Hi MikeH,

We just slice up the cabbage. 1/2" to 3/4". Length 2" or so. Just use enough oil in a deep frying pan so the cabbage does not burn. The dough is 3 cups of flour, 1 cup of water, 2 eggs, and a little salt.

That is enough dough for a half a h>>>

I paid dearly for it!!!! The worst part of the whole situation was that even though it was the Hotel Astoria, they still allocated water, meaning running water was only available from 6am to 8am, 4pm till 6 pm and then from 9pm till 11pm. It was UGLY es>>>

Pizza is pizza and no matter how bad it is we will eat it. The worst pizza I ever had was in Romainia. After 3 days of eating nothing but cabbage dishes, we found a sidewalk stand that in the business district of Bucharest that sold pizza and soda! Not>>>
