Annual Sign Blitz Started Today

I do an annual sign blitz. Every past customer can put a sign in their yard for the month of July. This puts them in a drawing for an 5 day all expense paid cruise on the Carnival Cruise Lines.

This year 200 past customers entered the drawing. You will not be able to go anywhere in the Lehigh Valley without seeing my name.

The roofing crew will put out another 20 signs from the work they will do this month. The repair crew will put out 80 signs. The gutter crew will put out 30 signs. Gutter Cleaning will put out 30 signs. Insulation will put out 20 signs.

That will total 380 job signs, plus the trucks are all lettered.

Lefty, the reason it won't work for them is they just sit by the phone hoping the roofing God has the phone ring. :laugh:

I'm sure it works well for you Lefty or you wouldn't keep it up for a decade. I once got about a dozen jobs off a single yard sign. We worked within a 1 mile radius of the first job we did in the area for over a month with all the jobs coming from signs. Other than that one time, it was just sporadic.

I think what your doing is a great idea because the biggest problem I had with yard signs was getting folks to keep them up in the yard. A few people would keep them up a long time but most would not. I even found some of our signs spray painted white with "Yard Sale" wrote on them. I could see our company name bleeding through the white paint.

Folks would call in to the office wanting the signs picked up and we would have to add this as stops on the routes. They were $7 each and we probably burnt that in gas picking them up. Do you go pick them all up again after July is over?

We have been doing it for about 10 years. I am not sure how it came about. I am sure someone else was doing something similar and we just tailored it to fit us. It is a lot of work. It starts in April with a mass mailing. Then the return postcards start to come in. All my trucks are out for a half a day on Saturday putting up signs.

People will be stopping me all month saying you are really busy. We see you working all over.

It really brands us.
