Lisa Ryan

Industry experience

Lisa was born, raised, and still lives in Cleveland, Ohio. Before speaking on stages across the nation, Lisa spent 13 years in industrial sales — including 7 years in the welding industry. In fact, she’s about as good with a welding torch in her hand as she is with a mic. Lisa learned a thing or two about employee appreciation and retention during those years. She left a highly successful career after realizing her boss just didn’t value her contribution as much as other companies would. Years later, she was laid off (along with dozens of coworkers) during a conference call. She has been the top talent that walked away and the under-valued employee that was unceremoniously cut loose.

Professional speaking experience

These experiences formed the foundation of the inspirational keynotes she has presented since 1997.

In that time, she has spoken to audiences at more than 1,000 national and international conferences. Companies and associations like Honeywell, Ferguson and Associated Equipment Distributors have invited her — and many invite her back a second and third time!

Lisa has engaged association members that made great efforts to attend an event, and she has conducted contract training — drawing in audiences that weren’t there by choice.

She is a Certified Speaking Professional™ with the National Speakers Association. As a CSP®,  she is among in the top tier of professional speakers — with only 17% of NSA members worldwide earning this designation.

Lisa is a Past President of the National Speakers Association, Ohio Chapter after serving back-to-back terms as President. She received her MBA from Cleveland State University. She has served on many other boards including The American Welding Society, Association for Equipment Manufacturing Professionals, and Toastmasters International.
