The Great British Slate Off!
Do you have the skill, precision and craftsmanship to stand out in the roofing industry? The Great British Slate Off is your chance to showcase your natural slating expertise and compete alongside some of the best in the trade.
This NFRC competition, hosted by SIG Roofing, invites roofers from across the UK to submit a short video demonstrating their slate roofing skills. The natural slate used in your project can be purchased from any supplier.
A panel of industry judges will review all entries and select three finalists to take part in the live Great British Slate Off final at InstallerSHOW 2026.
Finalists will receive three days of specialist ornamental slating training with NFRC, VIP access to InstallerSHOW, and the opportunity to demonstrate their craft on a national stage.
Whether you’re an experienced roofer or developing your skills within the trade, this is your chance to show the industry what you can do.
The Prize:
Three finalists will be selected to take part in the live Great British Slate Off final at InstallerSHOW 2026. Finalists will enjoy three days of specialist ornamental slating training delivered by NFRC, VIP access to InstallerSHOW 2026, and exclusive behind-the-scenes industry engagement opportunities.
Most importantly, they will have the chance to compete live in the Great British Slate Off, showcasing their skills in front of the industry.
Please note: finalists must be available to attend InstallerSHOW from 23rd to 25th June 2026 to take part in the competition and all associated activities.
Entries open 18 March 2026 and close 1 May 2026.
