MCA Releases 2022 Annual Report

MCA 2022 annual report
February 7, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.

The Metal Construction Association (MCA) has released its 2022 Annual Report.

The report is now available on the MCA website and can be viewed here. The report details MCA’s efforts and achievements throughout the year. The rise of metal in the construction industry is in part due to MCA’s advocacy, technical resources and marketing efforts.

In 2022, MCA provided 50 pages of data-driven insights in its annual statistical report. In addition, MCA wrote or updated 20 white papers and technical reports throughout the year. MCA was also the primary author of “Determination of Long-Term Thermal Resistance (LTTR) Values of Insulated Metal Panels,” a paper presented at the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) annual Polyurethanes Technical Conference. MCA’s annual report also includes findings about the labor shortage, the anticipated recession in 2023, and other issues impacting the industry.

Another initiative discussed in the report is the Metal Architecture Academy. A total of 6,296 MCA Continuing Education courses were taken in 2022 on Architectural Record’s CE Center, up 70% from 2021.

Also in the past year, MCA launched a new professional development program for future industry leaders, and introduced the Metal Construction Design Awards.

“MCA provides members the information to enable strategic decision making even in challenging times,” says Jeff Henry, MCA’s executive director. “With the success of our continuing education courses, white papers, tech resources and our new app, I’m proud to say the MCA’s 2022 report reflects highly on the association’s value to member companies and to the industry.”

About the Metal Construction Association

The Metal Construction Association brings together a diverse industry for the purpose of expanding the use of metal in construction through marketing, research, technology and education. Companies involved in MCA gain tremendous benefit from association activities that focus on research, codes and standards, market development and technical programs. MCA’s market development efforts increase the use of metal materials in construction through the education of the building and design communities about the benefits of metal.
