Live at IRE 2025!: Leister - PODCAST TRANSCRIPT

Lauren White: Hey everyone. I'm Lauren White with the coffee shops, and we are here at IRE 2025 in San Antonio, Texas and we are here with our friends in the ER booth. Good to you. Good to see you. Yes. Thank you. It's nice to be 

Speaker 2: Back again. It's nice to see you. 

Lauren White: Yes. 

Speaker 2: Yeah, we're very excited, of course, to be back at the IRE again. 

Lauren White: Yeah. 
 

Speaker 2: Um, of course, Lester Technologies, we've been in business for over 75 years, specializing in seam welding, you know and hot air equipment for, uh, thermoplastic roof membranes. 

Lauren White: Yeah. 

Speaker 2: Uh, a year ago we, we chatted about the new Verma Yeah. That we launched at the IREA year ago. We've had a tremendous amount of response to that. We're featuring that again this year. Right. We've got an active demo station here for the new Verma. There's a lot of things, things to see it over there to review and talk to the customers about what this new platform. So we're very excited about that. Yeah. We also have another new product that we're launching this year. It's called the vacuum Plate 100 lp. It's a battery powered vacuum plate, which is a, a vacuum seam tester and leak detection system to be able to check for leaks in roof systems like seams or a T joint, maybe a, a potential puncture spot. Yeah. Um, so we're also doing an active demonstration for that. So invite everybody to please come by again and check that out. 

Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely. Um, but in addition to that, of course, we still have all the, the, the machines that we've had for the last several years, uh, which would include the smaller uni roof, smaller welder. Yeah. The, uh, unit drive 500, which is our more compact semi-automatic welder that sort of bridges the gap between hand welding and automatic welding. We still have the bid mat, which is our, uh, automatic welding machine for welding modified bitman roof systems and of course, uh, our tri hand welder. Uh, so, you know, we still have a lot to feature here and we we're, uh, we've been super busy today, so Yeah, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're excited to be here like we always are. Right. And, uh, invite everyone to stop by our booth to, to come say hi. 

Lauren White: Yeah. And what's the feedback been so far for these, these new products? 

Speaker 2: Oh, for the new products, a tremendous amount of attention. Okay. Uh, so we've got some new technologies that have been rolled into the Verma that we're, we're getting a lot of, uh, a lot of great response to, like our monitored welding assistant and our Lester Quality system, uh, in the Verma. And so a lot of customers are, are very interested in some of the newer technologies, uh, which we're gonna be featuring and talking about again, um, in a couple of days. We're doing a live webinar with you guys. Yeah. I know from, from the booth here. Very fun on, uh, Friday morning. So, uh, you know, we're be talking again, a little bit more depth during the webinar, right. Uh, on some of these newer technologies and how it can help improve with quality management and quality control, uh and those sorts of things. So, uh and with that, uh, leak device, uh, testing device, um, you know, that's a new thing for us to be involved in, in that part of the business. And so, uh, it's garnering a tremendous amount of interest. That's great. So, yeah. Uh, more than I could really expect, so Yeah. Yeah. So we're running the demo and and again, happy to invite everybody to come by and and check it out for themselves. 

Lauren White: Right. And what was kind of the inspiration behind that, the leak detection 

Speaker 2: Product? Well, we've been, we've been offering that kind of technology, uh, before. We just haven't really been using, utilizing it in the roofing industry. Gotcha. Uh, so we get involved with a lot of other technologies and and equipment for other plastic welding applications outside of the roofing industry. One of them is, uh, geosynthetics industry. So those are membranes that are done like below grade, uh, for like landfills and tunnel linings and that sort of thing. And we've been utilizing that vacuum testing, uh, for those type of systems for years. And so, uh, we just developed this to be able to, to bring up a, a, a testing device that was more oriented specifically for roof type membranes, that that can't take the kind of, uh, vacuum pressure that those other membranes require. So it's, it's, it's optimized to be able to be used for thinner, you know, membranes for, you know, the roofing industry, maybe even the like swimming pool liners and that sort of thing, the thinner gauge membranes. Yeah. But one of the things that we really like about it were, it's the first one that we came out with that's battery power. Oh, okay. Yeah, exactly Right. Wow. So, so, yeah. So it's, uh, super portable. 

Lauren White: Yeah. 

Speaker 2: Easy to get on and off the roof. You could use a, a battery that can last all day long so you can test them all day long on one charge. Wow. Amazing. It's the battery side of it and the, the compact portability that's really got a lot of people's attention. 

Lauren White: Yeah, no kidding. I bet. Well, very cool. How exciting for you and exciting to, you know, launch another thing another year at IRE. 

Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly.
