IRE 2023 is Just One Month Away!

The 2023 International Roofing Expo will be here soon! Here are some important updates about the world’s biggest roofing expo. 

In a little over a month, roofing industry members from all over the world will be attending the 2023 International Roofing Expo (IRE), the year’s largest trade event. Not only will RoofersCoffeeShop® (RCS) be attending, but we are also dedicated to keeping you constantly updated about the event through our Countdown to IRE 2023 page, sponsored by CertainTeed. There, you can learn how to register for IRE, find a place to stay and what new events have been added to the show. 

Here’s some important news about IRE you might have missed: 

First-Time Attendees Reception

If it's your first time to IRE, what better way to celebrate than by attending the First-Time Attendees Reception, sponsored by RoofersCoffeeShop®! Join us on Tuesday, March 7 at 5:30 p.m. for a networking reception specially catered to those who haven't attended IRE before. The reception will be held at House of Blues in Dallas and shuttles are available for select hotels. The IRE Welcome Party will commence immediately after the reception, all the more reason to stop by! The reception is free for all first-time attendees.

Roofing Alliance Student Competition 

During the show, the Roofing Alliance will be hosting their Construction Management Student Competition on Wednesday, March 8. There, teams of students from six schools will be presenting a proposal for a roofing project, this year’s project being the Globe Life Field in Dallas, Texas. The six schools competing are: 

• Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois 

• California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, California 

• Clemson University, Clemson, South Carolina 

• Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado 

• Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas 

• University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida 

IRE Coffee Conversations 

Earlier in January, RCS hosted an episode of Coffee Conversations which was all about the upcoming show. We spoke with IRE keynote speaker Chris Czarnik as well as Kelly Van Winkle, president of Roofing Alliance, Luciano Perez, safety director at KPOST Roofing and Waterproofing and Jason Stanley, president of IB Roof Systems. On this episode, they discuss important events taking place at IRE, like the Student Competition and expanded Latino classes. 

MVP Award finalists and honorable mentions announced 

In January, the Roofing Alliance announced their 2022-23 Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards finalists and honorable mention recipients. This annual award honors outstanding leaders in the roofing industry. The winner will be announced at the show during the National Roofing Contractors Association’s (NRCA) Awards Ceremony on March 8, 2023.
