Homeowner Chooses Province™ Slate for Traditional Beauty

DaVinci Homeowner chooses province slate
January 19, 2023 at 3:00 p.m.

By DaVinci Roofscapes.

This homeowner went with DaVinci Roofscape's Province Slate not only to protect her home from storm damage, but also for its timeless look.

When storm damage demanded that Krishna Jain get a new roof, the Minnesota homeowner had some demands of her own. She wanted a new roof that could stand up to future storms while adding an authentic slate look to her home exterior.

Fortunately Jain’s son had lots of advice for his mother. He had recently had a DaVinci Roofscapes roof installed on his home. Jain did her research and quickly determined that a Province™ Slate roof was exactly the solution she was seeking.

“I specifically selected the Province Slate product because it’s the newest DaVinci composite roofing tile,” says Jain, who lives in St. Paul, Minnesota. “I decided the size and quality of the Province Slate looked best with the Mediterranean style of my house.”

New choice for traditional beauty

DaVinci introduced Province Slate in 2022. Each 12-inch wide synthetic slate tile has a fixed 8-inch exposure. The look evokes a historical nature with authentic natural slate appeal. Modeled after actual slate, the tiles have a natural, non-repeating beauty that complements a variety of home styles.

The Class A fire-rated and Class 4 impact-rated tile can handle a variety of climate and weather conditions. The durable composite slate tiles resist severe weather, high winds, insects, algae and fungus growth.

Province Slate tiles are available in six standard colors: Slate Gray, Slate Black, Smokey Gray, Castle Gray, European and Brownstone.

Because Jain wanted to enhance the curb appeal of her Mediterranean style home, she requested a special order color for her Province Slate roof. The Sonora blend includes shades of Medium and Dark Terracotta, mixed in with Dark and Light Clay.

“I wanted a synthetic slate roof because they look very good and last forever,” says Jain. “I chose DaVinci because the variations of colors in their roofing material surpass other companies. Their tiles look more natural than the other brands on the market.”

Let the installation begin

To install the Province Slate on her home, Jain had another decision to make. She interviewed roofers, and ultimately hired, Right Away Construction to handle her large reroofing project.

“This team has experience on the insurance side of things, so that helped with handling my storm damage situation,” says Jain. “They have a reputation for being experts in specialty roof systems such as slate and tile. I appreciate that they were prompt and professional in their communications. In addition, they gave me a reasonable bid for the project.”

Located out of Saint Anthony, Minnesota, Right Away Construction is headed by Joshua Kujawa. He and his crew tackled the project easily, with no challenges.

“This DaVinci product gives the Jain home a superior look,” says Kujawa. “Compared to the other homes in the area, this roof is a stand-out showpiece. We’re pleased that we were able to provide our professional roofing services for this homeowner and get her exactly the roof she was looking for to accent her house.”

BONUS: Saving on insurance

While Jain is pleased with the appearance of the Province Slate on her roof, she’s also excited about the resilience of the product. Having lived through storm damage to her past roof, she values the product strength and Lifetime Limited Material Warranty offered by DaVinci.

“The composite roofing material is very hardy and durable,” says Jain. “I know it will withstand future storms, and I won’t have to replace the DaVinci roof for many years.”

Jain isn’t the only believer in the dependability of impact-resistant DaVinci Roofscapes. Her insurance company, American Family, offered her a substantial discount after she invested in the Province Slate roof.

“They’re providing me with more than a 20% discount on my homeowners insurance,” says Jain. “They understand that this new synthetic slate roof will not sustain damage during future hail storms. It’s an investment.

“Although the DaVinci product is more expensive than the standard asphalt shingles I had previously, it’s well worth it. Now I won’t have to worry about storms or replacing the roof when strong weather hits our area.”
