Exceptional roofing advice you need to hear

Exceptional Metals Podcast with Jules

We spoke with Jules Dekovics from EXCEPTIONAL Metals about how roofers can improve their services during the upcoming hurricane season. 

Although the 2024 hurricane season is months away, it’s never too early to help your customers prepare their roofs for harsh wind and rain. One of the best ways to give your customers peace of mind is to give them quality roofing help while maintaining safe practices. In a recent podcast, we spoke with Jules Dekovics, national sales manager for EXCEPTIONAL Metals, who offered some valuable safety and business advice to roofers. 

EXCEPTIONAL Metals has facilities across the country, offering standing seam, perimeter metals and custom pre-fabricated roofs. The company also prioritizes safe roofing practices and encourages all contractors installing their products to follow their safety guidelines. 

“One of the things that we preach at EXCEPTIONAL Metals is safety. I mean, nothing comes before that,” Jules said. “It's very important that roofers are checking the roof out before they get on it. They have all their safety gear. All those types of things are really important to make sure, again, that everybody is safe going through this.” 

Jules also suggested that roofing contractors would do well to have a wealth of information on their projects and that the information be accessible. He also advises that roofers working on roofs during the hurricane season should have the right materials well-stocked. 

“Have materials stocked, whether it be tarps, maybe membrane on the single ply side. Make sure you have materials that you can do some emergency work with,” he said. “If you have projects you're working on and that you're well aware of that have skylights, cover them up because those will break first.
