Catching up With Catch-All at IRE 2023!

Catch-All Live at IRE 2023
May 8, 2023 at 9:00 a.m.

By Anna Lockhart.

Heath Hicks discusses the latest innovations his company, The Catch-All, has in store for this year.

The RoofersCoffeeShop® team recently met up with Heath Hicks, CEO of The Catch-All, at the International Roofing Expo to discuss the company’s latest product updates and new designs.

The Catch-All started out as a residential roofing company that turned into an innovative product manufacturer after realizing that there was a need for something that could protect homeowner’s properties and persona; safety during construction. That was where The Catch-All came into play, replacing unreliable plastic tarp with a unique netting design used to cover foliage, walkways and valuable décor that might otherwise be damaged by waste and debris from the roofing project. When the project is over, contractors can easily gather and remove the Catch-All, taking any hazardous materials with it.

Heath showed RoofersCoffeeShop their latest product, the Nail Catch, and explained why it makes a difference for homeowners and contractors alike. “After we got the Catch-All implemented and up and running on all our jobs, we were still getting some call backs about nails. Whether it was nails that were left in the gutter or some nails that were left on the roof; even after they blow off the roof, there's always some nails left. Sometimes they're trapped in the downspouts, but either way, they wash out after the first hard rain,” he told RCS. “So, we invented these little filters that go on during the installation. You leave them on for however long you want to... then the homeowner just slides them off and throws them in the garbage. They're full of all the nails and debris, granules, tarpaper, stuff like that, that might've washed out from those first few rains.”

The Nail Catch utilizes a water-permeable filter that safely stores nail and other debris in a bag that the homeowner can easily remove and throw away after enough time has passed for all of the debris to gather. This product was designed to satisfy customers and eliminate their worry about hazardous materials so that they can enjoy their new roof worry-free.

About The Catch-All

Early on in our residential roofing company, we often found ourselves doing a great job on a homeowner’s roof — only to get a call later about a damaged bush or a nail in a lawnmower tire. Perfect customer satisfaction felt like an impossible goal, but we kept pushing to find a solution.

We spent thousands at our job sites on the best nail magnets out there, bought metal detectors for our crews, and even paid crews more for extra clean job sites. But none of those efforts achieved our goal.

If you think about it, professionalism matters to homeowners. They've often just experienced a significant storm at their properties, with hail damage to their roofs (and cars), uprooted trees or broken limbs, etc. They want a smooth & professional roof replacement experience after all of that.

Out of this frustration we developed The Catch-All to cover an entire roofing job site.
