Tis the season . . . I've received two Subpoena's for Depositions so far this year. One of the attorneys told me that I would be paid triple my hourly rate as an expert witness. I explained that I don't work by the hour; I work by the day. They agreed to pay my daily rate. Then I got a call asking what my daily rate was. I told them that I charge $5,600 a day. I got an ear full about 10 minutes later when the attorney called me back.>>>
Heck, that's cheap HOP. Years ago, I heard of a WC doctor charging $12000. for two hours of testimony, paid in full up front. If the case, as many are several times, was delayed, the $12K was earned and similar charges applies for subsequent hearings.>>>
