INDIANAPOLIS -- News of a class-action lawsuit against State Farm Insurance is welcome news for some homeowners who are still dealing with the aftermath of a huge hailstorm nearly three years later.

On Monday, a federal judge gave the go-ahead for the suit to be brought against State Farm Insurance over the company's handling of thousands of claims for hail damage from the April 2006 storm.

It's the news Mike and Cherie England told Call 6's Rafael Sanchez they've been waiting for after the roof of their Fishers home was badly damaged.

State Farm sent the couple a check for $6,200 after their deductable to replace downspouts and vents damaged by the hail, but denied claims for a roof replacement. Although damage was found, a report from the company suggested that it had occurred during the instillation of the roof, and not as a result of the hail.

"It's a mater of are we getting the short end of the stick," Mike England said. "When you see your neighbors getting their roofs completed and that we're not, you know, did the storm pass our house and go to theirs?"

State Farm had previously reported that the company received 49,200 claims and that it had paid out more than $265 million to Hoosiers whose property had sustained damage.

A spokesman for the company said Tuesday that State Farm was disappointed with the judge's decision and that the company was reviewing options.

More information about the class-action lawsuit won't be made public for another month, but the law firm of Price Waicukauski & Riley, LLC is handling the case.

An investigation by state insurance regulators is still ongoing regarding State Farm's handling of claims following the storm.

I BET STATE FARM DENIED 100+ HAIL DAMAGED ROOFS THAT I SUBMITTED ESTIMATES FOR IN 2004-2006...I HOPE THEY NOW HAVE TO PAY!!>>>
