Property Lines

Being called to do a repair on a customers house with the property line only fourteen inches away. A nosey neighbor who no matter what will not let you put a ladder on their property to fix the gutter hanging off the side of the home. You try to be neutral and kind not say too much but nothing works Not ladders not pump staging not roof ladders ???????? What would you do ? Tried to offer free services didn't work.>>>

I must admit cash did not cross my mind but i did offer free gutter cleaning i thought that was better.

Wywoody, Cant be fixed from the roof Shed Dormer blocks access and goes almost the length of the roof. Only two rows of shingles (10 inches) go across.

One of the brothers that threatened me was indicted in a Mattapan drive by shooting, so I guess I was lucky that day. Not as lucky as the 8 year old that he killed in the shooting. Neighbors, especially abutters can be a real nuisance.>>>

I had a job like this once. The guy who hired me to re-roof his house told me his neighbor was a PITA and that the property line was 18" from the house on the back. Well sure enough, we pulled in the "shared" driveway to start roof and here comes the neighbor asking how we was going to tear off roof with no room in back. I told him I was going to tear it off and carry it to the front....he then told me I cant put a tarp in his yard and I said fine and he left.

Well later in the day we had tore off the entire house and was cleaning up roof and here comes the neighbor, bitching because some nails and a little debris was in his grass. I told him well we usually cover that with a tarp and then run a magnet but since you dont want me in your yard we wont be doing that. He then said "Yes you will you son of a b**ch"....when he said that I jumped off the roof and hit at his feet, he went to run and tripped and fell....I lost my temper and threatened to kick his old backside. I told him he must be the butthole neighbor I had been warned of. He threatened to call the cops, I told him he had better call an ambulance because he was about to need it if he didnt leave me alone and go home!! He ended up calling the cops and the cops came out and scolded him..made him allow me space to do my job.

To this day, everytime I see that old bastage, which is frequent in my small town.....I give him the finger salute! I cant stand people that are pricks.>>>

that happened to me once in Dorchester.... I had words with the owner's father....I was rude.... his sons came home at noon and threatened me with a hand gun.... after I changed my pants...they came over and apologized and let me use their driveway.>>>
