I roofed this house late last summer. It is right around the corner from my house and I drive by it everyday. We replaced about 8-9 sheets of plywood during the course of the job. It was 3/8" plywood on 24" centered trusses. Within the last month I noti>>>

I have used 7/16 , which is what we all refer to as 1/2 nowadays, on replacement of 3/8 before. If you shim the 3/8 around the 7/16 with the thickness of a shingle it will look all the same and give the customer more bang for his or her buck at the same t>>>

The attic ventilation is adaquate, ridge vent and several 8x16 soffits. The insulation is better than most in the area. It has fiberglass batts that were, I think placed over loose fill, and there is likely NO vapor barrier although I can't be sure. But>>>

I had the same issue w / a sheet of 3/8" I put in from Menard's-------on my house!!!

I don't know the technical reason for failure. I'd blame the Big Box myself

Needless to say, 3/8" on 24" centers is a no go since the problem on my house.>>>

Is it possible that some sort of water/vapor generator was below it, and is the underside sufficiently vented.>>>
