just giving an update on my arm. I tore my biceps tendon and Tuesday had surgery to repair it. They did a tendon graph to repair. my arm is immobilize so the tendon can fuse together. that's driving me nuts not being able to move it. now i know how Sean felt. have to do everything with left hand. will see doc. today hope he gives good news. as far as work goes things here are dead slow. I'm fighting a costumer over a deposit for special order materials. received a deposit to secure materials and after i received materials she now wants to cancel job and get a full refund of deposit. supplier wont accept return. offered to deliver material to her driveway and give the balance of deposit, she refused. said she would be in touch. don't know what that means  i have not heard from her in a week>>>

Yes Tinner I got it built. I just have to solder it together and I'm done. Did good on ebay this week $935.00. Not bad for just sitting around selling junk.>>>

If any of your wives watched Oprah today they were showing the new graph material. Healing good, started to flex arm today. I can't get it to go all the way yet.>>>

I'm doing good. A little stir crazy maybe :side: The arm has no pain as of now but I start PT next week and I'm sure I'll feel that. I made $535.00 on ebay yesterday selling stuff I don't use anymore :woohoo:>>>

I got a new job now. I'm selling stuff on Ebay  Since I can't work I am selling all the junk I mean antiques we got laying around the house and cellar and shop. Maybe I'll make more then roofing. I am selling all the stuff my uncle gave me when I cleaned out his apartment when he went to assisted living. Doesn't fit our decor and my kids didn't want it so off to ebay. I'm getting good at left handed mouse operation and typing.>>>

another good report. Still can't use my arm at all until the graph grows onto tendon. Was told today I'm the first in this area to receive this cutting edge graph. It's not cadaver but made of some other material I forgot to write it down, but it will not be rejected at all and it is genetically engineered to attract stem cells in the blood stream and then they fuss to it to form new tendon. That why it's important not to move it while new blood vessels form. To cool! Next week I'm allowed to flex it with no weight. My arm has been bent in a 90% for two and a half weeks>>>

Terry Said: Hoping your recovery is uneventful. My husband has a surgeon like that. After our insurance was cancelled this past September, my husband had to have bypass surgery. The surgeon donated his time and all the following office visits along with making sure to keep Bud supplied with the medications he needs that are just outrageously priced. Without his compassion I probably would have lost my husband. Ill keep you in my prayers and also thank God for doctors who give so much!

I have to say that after reading Larry's post, and tinner's response, I feel a lot less justified about complaining about not working when I know that both of you guys would have preferred shoveling sh&t against the tide, rahter than being disabled for a minute. I can't stand not being able to scratch an itch for more than 10 seconds, I don't know how I would handle something like that. I have never been hurt long enough to not go back to work the next day...and that includes getting kissed in the fingers twice in 40 years in a table saw. If there's anything to be learned from us old guys...it's slow down and take care of yourself.....>>>

going to doc today to get stitches out today. Find out about pt also. I ran a volunteer job over the weekend for church and had 16 helpers to install 500 ln. ft. of alum soffit in a building. Very frustrating not being able to show them what to do but try talking them through it. In the end it was perfect.>>>

Copperman - glad to hear your on the mend. Hang in there. I guess the silver lining is that it didn't happen in June where you would loose the whole summer.>>>

Sorry you're hurt. Glad you're coming back. I haven't had any serious injuries for a long time, but I'm at the point where something hurts somewhere just about all the time and I never know where it's going to be. It's always migrating to someplace different. This week it's left heel and cramping under my left arm. Last week it was excruciating pain under my right shoulder blade. Migratory misery. I just keep coming back for more. Just love the physical side of this biz. Need to have my head adjusted I suppose, but once it's gone, you know you'll never get back to it. Can't abide that yet.>>>

It'll seem like forever, but it will pass. I had the same thing on the left bicep a long time ago.

I figured light duty meant fishing >>>

got a good report from the doctor. He put me into another brace that keeps my arm bent at a 90% angle. He said I cant move arm for a few weeks while tendon graph heals. He told me that the tendon split from the elbow to the muscle. Insurance refused to pay for graph, said it was cosmetic. but the doc did it anyway. He said he talked the supplier into giving it to him and he installed for free. He said without it it would of taken forever to mend. He's a great doctor! so it looks like 6 weeks of no work from this point and then light duty after that for a while. What is light duty in roofing anyway? Thanks for all the support>>>
