Just had the Olympic Torch pass by about 150' from my front door this evening. Walked to the top of the street to see it go past and then the transfer to another runner. Must have been over 100 police plus swat team etc escorting the runners along with a cheezy Coca-Cola float with dancers and drummers. Said to my son "there are your tax dollars at work son"
All this for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. I guess this caravan will travel for 106 days across Canada.
I guess in reflection it was kind of neat to have it in your own back yard.
