Just hang in there, it'll get better. This little blip is nothing like the Carter years, believe me.

I think bad. The economy is tanking and people are losing jobs at record paces. This causes a surge in fly by nite roofers with there cut rate prices. People are lured by price only because they don't have enough to pay for a legitimate contractor with insurance. Maybe here in Pa the new license program will help but I have not heard of any of the details.>>>
In the short term it hurts......People will/are holding-off, as straightline said, which will be cause for a brief "catch-up" period, ........... then back to normal when the majority come back to their senses, I hope....>>>
Just my opinion, but it has already had an effect-- at least psychologically. When the economy is declining and people feel like NOTHING is being done to improve things, they hang on to their cash in case things get even worse. Meanwhile, their roofs are only getting older & leakier.
Whether or not the current economic stimulus plan is the correct path or not, people seem encouraged that some action is being taken and a little more willing to pull out some cash to pay for necessities rather than "hoarding" it.
September through February were bad-- as bad as I've ever seen. But we anticipate a good April because some people just can't wait any longer. After that, only time will tell. One thing is for certain, America (and the whole world) has quite a large hill to climb. But we are America and we have climbed even greater hills than this.>>>
