Not much for resturants. MickeyD is fine, if they had one. Leaving tomorrow.

Pretty sad day here today. We were there, at Avon Pier. http://www.starnewsonline.com/article/20091016/ARTICLES/910169952/1177?Title=Area-teenager-drowns-while-surfing-near-Hatteras

Was just in Frisco about 3 weeks ago for my R&R before Winter. Stayed in a house on the sound side across from Billy Mitchell airport. Had a blast but the fishing was poor. Visit Diamond Shoals restaurant in Buxton for some great seafood. Most interesting part was that my Buick Enclave actually performed perfectly for beach driving. Who would have thought you could get by without a 4x4! Not me! Don't forget to pickup your stupid 10 day $10.00 fishing permit......what a joke!

Last time I was at Buxton and Manteo and Nag's Head and Kitty Hawk was in 1966. Winter. Snuck around in the dunes and watched the Navy frogmen do an attack exercise on the Coast Guard. Loved the lighthouses. Loved the way the beach constantly changed. Spent a month there with my family. Wonderful memory.

Don't miss the "Weeping Radish" German restaurant at Manteo (across the bridge from Nag's Head). Best fresh brew and German food you'll ever eat.......believe me.

I took pics of the one I did about 16 years ago. We removed the I&W and applied the roof to the oak deck. No leaks to date. They had 3 direct hurricane hits the year I installed it. :cheer:
